REM module failure

After parking my 330e for 4 days at home, I started my car and got a light system warning.
Below are the symptoms:
1. Trunk doesn't open by using remote fob or the button near the driver seat and I don't have the valet button in the glove compartment
2. Light on the trunk does not work at all but the brake lights on the side body are working
3. Turning light signal on the rear doesn't work. But when I press the emergency light, the signal light on the rear body lights do light up but the light section on the trunk still doesn't work
4. Reverse camera and PDC doesn't work at all

I took the car to BMW dealer and they said the system showed the REM is in sleeping mode and not functioning. For 8 hours, they are still unable to open the trunk to check the REM module.

The dealer told me they have never encounter this problem before. This is a real joke by BMW. Does anyone else had this issue before?

Very unusual problem, including spending 8 hours and not being able to open the trunk. What about lowering the rear seat (or even removing) and opening the the trunk from the inside?

I told them to lower the rear seats, which they did, but my car is not equipped with trunk release so they are still trying to figure out how to open the trunk so they can work more easily and check the problem with the REM module.

Hmm ... could the trunk release mechanism be disassembled from the inside? Again - one of the most unusual repair challenges.

As you said, after 8 hours, they told me that they are still trying to figure out how to open the trunk. Which doesn't sound assuring at all. I'm a loyal bmw guy and trust the brand and all their work put into their cars but this is unacceptable. I hope they don't pop the trunk open like a soda can.

The dealer managed to open the trunk to investigate the problem. At the end, they determined to be a faulty REM module and it was replaced within a day. The programming took half a day. So the problem was resolved. However, I hated that every time a programming is involved, it will wipe out my driver profile seat position memories.

Programming the REM shouldn't affect the seats, as they're not controlled by the REM. The only devices controlled by the Rear Electronic Module are in the rear of the car.

How did they end up opening the trunk?

Probably by removing the rear seat, then climbing into the trunk to pull the emergency release.

I'm having a similar issue, I wasnt able to open the trunk, after flooding issue, no driver side seat electronics, no idrive working, no wipers, no trunk open and lightning, no rear windows, so I decided to buy another used rem module and now the trunk are working, but the other still not working, how can I program the used one module, my old flooding module is 61359298959 and the used one that is working the trunk is 61359374507. My car 320i 2013 , thanks
