Carly vs esys coding

I used to have an e91 and used a cheap obd WiFi adapter to do a bit of coding with Carly app. Plugged it in to f31 I now have and it refuses to do anything
Question is, do I spend £12 on an esys cable and learn what to door spend £50+ on the dedicated Carly adapter and have the easiness of that?
Is esys coding all VO and in German? I worry I would break something with it.

Try downloading the free version of the Bimmercode App. It lets you test your adaptor works in the car before paying for the App.

Buy a WiFi vgate adapter for 16 usd and get the Bimmercode phone application which is free on the app store & play store, but in-app cost to enable coding is 30 euros. Cheapest option I found and Bimmercode is actually really good, especially with the expert mode option. Supports F3X models.

I went for the Vgate and Bimmer code. About £35/40 all in. Works a treat, can make all the changes i'd want too..

Or you could buy Engie for £15 and use their B/T dongle with Bimmercode. It works fine.

I got the vgate wifi obd adapter but Bimmercode times out during initial loading. Adapter works fine with other apps that work with obd. Like carly. Any ideas?

I got the Vgate4 adapter checked with Bimmercode for recommendations and this is the one they recommended, the adapter is Bluetooth not wifi and works a treat no dropouts and very stable connection

I'd get the vgate obd 2 WiFi adapter for £15 and then download Bimmercode and activate coding for £30. Very worth it and is compatible with all F3X models. Spent 3 hours coding stuff into the car with expert mode because there are so many options.

Have you tried changing settings on app to slow communication?

If your car isn't an F3X model then it won't work and will fail when trying to get the terminal status. Bimmercode is only compatible with F3X models.

If you could provide the actual error code you're getting when trying to connect, would help diagnose your issue.
