It is pretty straightforward to change RPM limits in BM3’s editor. I played around with lowering them for a valet tune, should be the same for increasing them.

As far as other platforms don’t have any experience. I don’t recommend guess and check as a means of finding out what to raise it to. Good luck.

If the stock redline is 7000, I don't see 7200 being an issue (I personally wouldn't worry about the 200rpm increase). Now, if you're trying to increase it another 500 or more, I'd personally look into installing some stronger valvesprings at the very minimum to keep them from having valve float. You probably won't gain much above the stock redline without changing the cams or the intake manifold runner length.

I'm almost certain that the S55 uses the same top end as the N55 and it reached 7500 on the factory hardware. The only thing I would worry about is the harmonic balancer.

it is in comfort and sport but not in Sport+

my 435i everytime I put it in sport + and do some high revs it reaches 7500 rpm.
