Service History Exclamation Mark

My wife took her 3 series for service and when she brought it home found the onboard service history had an exclamation mark against it for the one just completed. Going into the service and the mark is against the MOT inspection. The MOT had been completed in January and the computer updated.
The wife took the car back but the service manager says it’s because the MOT was more than 2 months late. It wasn’t though.

None of the other services even have a MOT inspection check on the service details. They are saying this can’t be adjusted but surely they must be able to correct this. Anyone had a similar problem?

Is it a Vehicle Check or Vehicle Inspection?
MOT ones don't flag up in the iDrive, and this is the Inspection.
The Check is where they check the car and is a scheduled item.

Subject to confirmation because I always get the two terms mixed up!!!

It’s the vehicle inspection that has been added to a service 4 months after it was MOT’d

It looks like the garage has messed it up.
They didn't need to input that "Inspection" item but they did, so the computer did its part based on the date input.

If they've put on an MOT (in error). Have they charged for it? Have they done one?
Does your Vehicle Inspection now say July 2022?

If they've put an MOT on the History, for maximum disruption, I'd want one done!!!

A couple ofbyears ago, my brother got Sytners to do an oil change "half way". They didn't put it on the iDrive as it wasn't scheduled, so when the schedule came up he had to have it changed again, even though it was only about 7 months previous to maintain a proper history.

That was my thoughts on it. My wife has heard back from the customer services manager as the dealers today and they sort f admit to it being their error. They state that as 7 days have elapsed since the service was uploaded to the car they can’t correct it and need permission from BMW. She was later copied into an email to BMW with a form attached for amending the history. We'll have to see what happens next.

It has now been resolved with the exclamation mark removed from the service history. It had required BMW Germany to allow the reset of that service. I suppose the system is there to stop a fraudulent history being created, in which case it works.
A lot of messing around due to the error at the garage, compounded by lies and then the eventual truth. It looks like we won’t be using JCT600 at Bradford anymore, whilst we were there another person was having problems with service too, so back to Stratstone at Leeds for the next service

They lost their franchise for selling BMWs for some reason but managed to keep the official servicing side going though. Seemed a bit strange to me.

JCT600 BMW were always awful for sales and service wasn't good either I stopped using them in 2012 for sales and service before then, didn't surprise me when they lost the sales part and service you got isn't a surprise either, I switched to Lloyd Colne who are nearer me and miles better.

+1 for Lloyd Colne - service department as always been first class for me and they are only 1/2 a mile from my house.

Just been into the spares department to pick up some bits and just asked if Rachel was in today as I wanted to book in for a KDS for my new suspension only to be told that Rachel and Andy have both left. I have been dealing only with Rachel and Andy for 13 years.
Will miss them both.

Hi, Sorry to resurrect the thread, but this exact same thing has happened to me on a used 2018 BMW 335d I just bought.

Do you know if the car has to go back to the same dealer to get this rectified? I bought the car 600 miles away and didn't see this service entry issue until I got home.
