Thank you Buckeye. Luckily Bartek has new instructions for the F3X/F8X install. You have to take the entire cluster apart in the back (2 circuit boards). Then the silver rings have to come off....clips are in the back. Yes the overlays just drop in with out adhesive, even the small gauge overlays.

I did write in the custom order, but they ignored it and sent two sets of red MPH gauges. Then I got there correct color resent (gray and black) with the ///M logo, etc. Website is still not updated 3/2021.

Will try the install in a week or two...mods are backed up.

Thanks for the quick reply,

Cheers

Ordered some M4 CS OLED-style tail lights for the car. Don't have them yet, but they are similar in style to the second set of lights in the linked video below. I was sent a video of the welcome sequence, sequential turn signal, brake light, and reverse light in action by the manufacturer and, fingers crossed, everything looks flawless so far. Will definitely post pics once I have them and put them on the car

Got my M4 GTS style OLED taillights on! They turned out amazing, the fitment is good, and the sequential turn signal and startup sequence are a really nice touch. Overall I'm super happy with these

Car looks awesome! Any reason you didn't go for the fully digital cluster that Kies Motorsports offers?

Thanks so much! There were a couple reasons. First, I wanted the gauge faces to be blue. It matches the other accents in the interior (e.g. shift paddles and start/stop button), and it is reminiscent of the Alpina gauge clusters, which I personally love the look of. Second, the 6WB with coding is big money, and the price is kind of hard to justify for a gauge cluster. I would rather spend the money on other parts. That said, if the price ever drops on them or there's a sale on them, I would highly consider the 6WB as the digital clusters are very nice.

Updated the iDrive firmware to ID6, and had Apple CarPlay installed as well after the flash. The ID6 firmware update really modernized the iDrive well, and CarPlay is an absolute blessing while driving. Overall I'm really happy with this upgrade, definitely made a substantial improvement to daily driving- bigger than I thought it would.

Decided to wrap the interior trim with forged carbon fiber. I would've rather bought a kit, but I couldn't find any forged carbon interior kits for the f30 unfortunately. But the wrap turned out great, and I'm digging the look of the forged carbon. I eventually may do the shifter and shifter surround as well but I haven't decided on that yet.

Thats so sick!! I was debating on doing forged CF wrap but opted for the regular CF vinyl instead. Wish I wouldve done forged now!

Thank you for all the compliments everyone! And yes, I want to add some blue bits here and there, but subtle blue accents, such as blue stitching on the steering wheel. I also think it would be sweet to have blue seatbelts as well.

If you have NBT evo it can be coded. I got it coded through a guy on ebay, he coded my carplay as well

Anyways, I picked up this 2016 340i xDrive M-sport in late April of 2019. Since then, I've absolutely fallen in love with it- it's easily my favorite car I've ever owned. Exterior is glacier silver metallic with a black leather interior with brushed aluminum trim. I haven't done too much to it yet, but I have plans for it in the future (nothing too crazy though as this is a daily driver). Pics are as of June 2020

Current mods:
Wheels
-245/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+
-18x8.5 Enkei Raijins in black

Exterior
-M Performance front splitter
-Kies Motorsports side skirt extensions
-Kies Motorsports carbon fiber rear trunk lip
-Kies Motorsports carbon fiber M-style mirror caps
-Monaco Motorsports carbon fiber rear diffuser
-Carbon fiber M exhaust tips
-M3-style dual slat grille
-Clear side bumper reflectors
-Black tinted rear reflectors
-V brace wrapped in blue vinyl
-M4 GTS/CS-style OLED taillights

Interior
-Blue M3-style gauge faces
-White LED swap on speedo, tach, and all needles
-Blue aluminum paddle shifters
-Blue start/stop button (adds 50 hp)
-Ambient lighting upgrade (aka plastic strips that redirect light on doors)
-iDrive firmware upgraded to ID6
-Apple CarPlay retrofit
-Trim wrapped in forged carbon fiber

Performance
-JB4 tune
-Agency Power air intake
-VRSF High-Flow Catted Downpipe
-Dinan midpipe
-xHP Flashtool Stage 3 transmission tune

Bought, but not yet installed:
- 9-color ambient lighting upgrade

Planned mods (for now):
-Bootmod3
-Bilstein B8s
-Dinan springs
-M3 seats
-Upgraded brakes

very nice car!

Recently installed a kit that makes it so you're able to select between 9 different colors for the ambient lighting, as opposed to the stock 2 color ambient lighting. On top of the different colors, its also brighter than stock but not obnoxiously so. It's even visible in the daylight which is very nice. And the best part is that its all controlled in the iDrive, so there's no external remote or anything like with generic kits. This is easily my favorite mod I've done to my interior yet. The only thing I may try to address is the footwell lighting being a bit too bright; other than that its perfect.
The pictures show just a couple of the color options. I'm going with the dark purple-ish blue for now

Very nice! The ambient lighting is pretty spiffy. I installed replacement LED modules that provide blue/white and are brighter than OEM. The 9 colors is pretty cool.

The blue gauge face plate looks pretty cool at night.
