N26 Forged internals Engine build

Just starting my engine build. I'm going to go with Maxspeedingrods connecting rods, cp pistons, and dry cast iron sleeves with support rings for the open deck from cylinder supports system. Just got my connecting rods from maxspeedingrods. Shipping was extremely quick. Next up is ordering the cp pistons

Would you mind measuring those rods center to center? They look like Eagle M5x rods.

Yep so, the rods pictured above are 135mm length c to c. Would need wrist pin and crank diameter but if that's the case, M50 based (m50, m52, s50, s52) rods will work - in which case I would go with Molnar rods personally.

hey just saw this, on their website it says center to center length is 144.3mm . I actually called eagle rods and they didn't have any rods that would work before I went with maxpeedingrods.

here's the maxpeedingrods link for the rods : https://www.maxpeedingrods.co.uk/pro...(us-only).html

Here are the n20 specs from hurricanre rods and it's 144.35mm center to center : https://www.hurricanerods.com/produc...l#.X35RTajYrnE

What is the purpose of this? Does this increase power ? What does it mean to “build and engine”

lets you run higher boost without blowing your internals. build can be just bolt ons (hell even rims + tune is considered "build" these days) but forged internals engine build is going big turbo + custom internals so your engine doesn't explode

The reason why I have to rebuild the engine with stronger forged connecting rods and pistons is because the engine will basically self destruct from what I've read with anything around 325-350 whp. I'm going for around 5-600 whp with my set up.

Whats your budget if you don't mind me asking? I'm loving 300hp in this thing but 500 just sounds amazing especially if it can be done safely. And honestly, my car is paid in full and modded the way I want and its already worth almost worth nothing so.. fuck it?

I really didn't have a budget planned just trying to get good parts for as low as possible. I paid $658 for the rods shipped, and just got the pistons with the upgraded rings shipped for $905. With the twin charge setup I have planned, it should put a minimal amount of strain on the engine.

I plan on getting the Iron sleeves, cylinder support rings, and everything installed at cylinder support system. I have to find an engine block now because they're backed up about 8 weeks and I can't have the car parked that long.

when you say sleeves, you mean OEM or is it an aftermarket solution aka Darton, APS, etc.

On their website - www.cylindersupportsystem.com it says including iron liners . I forgot to ask specifically which brand. I'll call today later on and find out

I spoke with cylinder support system and they use melling cast iron cylinder sleeves. I actually looked them up and those sleeves are going for like $22 each.

Taking it to a machine shop to bore out the cylinder and put in the sleeves?

I'm going to send it to cylinder support system, for $1,245 on their website they install support rings, the iron liners and machine everything to the block.

it's going to get everything else done with them so it's going to be more money. I'm just trying to find a block with a good crankshaft. They told me they’re real busy and I would be looking at an 8 week turn around
