Shouldn't need to replace the sensors unless they have been tripped.

Yes - will also change the brake fluid and replace OEM brake lines with stainless steel reinforced ones.

Zimmerman discs are single piece, if you care about weight and corrosion, you want the two piece discs like Textar.

The stock pads are a waste of time, go for Ferrodo DS2500s instead

The Ferrodos have way more initial bite and a higher coefficient of friction which remains pretty constant across normal operating temperatures meaning fade is perceptively non existent on the road.

This. Mine have been great the last two months. I did a complete overhaul. Powdered and rebuilt calipers, lines, motul 5.1, Platz1 340mm 2 piece rotors in the front, 345 Brembos with r1 concepts rotors in rear. Car is sturdy in brakes now.

Interesting. So Ferrodos have a more aggressive initial bite than BMW OEM pads?

I am changing my mind about Zimmermann smooth rotors. While inexpensive, I would like to find rotors which are lighter.

Recommendations for a 2 piece, floating rotor in M Sport brake size:

Front: 370x30mm
Rear: 345x24mm

Stoptech make some that are are nice, but pricey. EBC has some that are a bit cheaper. I think brembo has some too.

Like said below stoptech aero are abput 700 a rotor. Girodisc also makes some but again close to 2K.

Then there is Platz1 on eBay. They are Taiwanese, and the front set is about $700 shipped.
A bit cheaper than ECS/Turner 2 piece in the 8-900 range.

Haven't seen anyone make 2 piece for the rear. I believe there is just not enough space.

Yes I wasn't talking about two piece floating, more the composite ones like the factory discs where the hats are aluminium and the rotors are steel.

This is what I meant, most Zimmerman discs you see are single casting

I don't know what things are like in the US but that seems expensive. No doubt a good product but I bought these for £203 last year and the weight and specs matched the bmw discs. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-O...-/192307413629

Zimmerman's Formula F line discs are two piece... It's also obvious in the pic you posted.

OP can consider Brembo two piece line also...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/35259329734...cAAOSwIz5cpaCv

which are almost same price with Zimmerman Formula F.

Tommi_Mav, thanks for the recommendation. I am looking for smooth rotors since M Peformance style slotted / dimpled rotors tend to be noisy.

Is anyone going to have an application where the 1 piece will not be sufficient? It's fine even if you're tracking the car. The extra weight of the rotor versus savings is not significant.
