Zimmerman discs are single piece, if you care about weight and corrosion, you want the two piece discs like Textar.
The stock pads are a waste of time, go for Ferrodo DS2500s instead

Interesting. So Ferrodos have a more aggressive initial bite than BMW OEM pads?

Stoptech make some that are are nice, but pricey. EBC has some that are a bit cheaper. I think brembo has some too.

Then there is Platz1 on eBay. They are Taiwanese, and the front set is about $700 shipped. A bit cheaper than ECS/Turner 2 piece in the 8-900 range. Haven't seen anyone make 2 piece for the rear. I believe there is just not enough space.

Yes I wasn't talking about two piece floating, more the composite ones like the factory discs where the hats are aluminium and the rotors are steel.

This is what I meant, most Zimmerman discs you see are single casting

Is anyone going to have an application where the 1 piece will not be sufficient? It's fine even if you're tracking the car. The extra weight of the rotor versus savings is not significant.
