looking for advice for 2013 328i
ive just got a 328i 70,000 miles from a friend and im interested in getting a little bit more power out of it . Im not much of a car guy though im still learning so any advice is much appreciated .
however , i bought it off someone who clearly didnt take care of it (yes i got it at a very good price) so im looking for some advice on what to change before i put on performance mods . so far ive read online to upgrade my spark plugs and ignition coils, after that im not sure what to upgrade before the mods. mods im thinking of cold air intake front mount intercooler stage 1 |

My suggestion is going to go against everyone else's.
Turbo to intercooler pipe Intercooler Charge pipe Start out with those as they are the hardest to install (not hard at all). Also ensures and sets you up for the future. Next would be stage 1 tune and leave it alone basically. If you want more then you go down the rabbit hole even more.

I like where your heads at with maintenance first, then mods.
Definitely get on a religious 5k mile oil change regiment. Plugs absolutely (NGK 97506). Coils could probably wait until 100k if you wanted. May also consider rear differential oil refresh and cabin air filter. Forget the intake, waste of money for this application. Might consider a drop in filter and ram air duct in place. 1. Intercooler and associated piping 2. Catless downpipe 3. Bootmod3 stage 1 flash Then onto the suspension. |

We offer a combo deal that adds the bm3, intercooler, charge pipe.
You can run stage 1 with this setup or add downpipes and run stage 2 for even more power. You have the option to get the 5" intercooler or upgrade to the 7". If you are getting a downpipe in the future and running a stage 2 map, I recommend you upgrade the intercooler for the best results.

make sure the timing chain was done. otherwise, basic bolt-ons like charge-pipes, inlet and you're good to go. best of luck on the build.

After that I would play it by ear depending on what you can pick up on this forum/eBay used for cheap. I actually started with a M Perf exhaust. Got it off a dude for less than half price. Also picked up an aFe "Stage-2" intake for $100 off. Both these mods will do jack shit for power, but my biggest gripe with the car is the N26 engine sound. So I figured why not make the exhaust and intake louder to cancel it out. I'll probably do the BM3/intercooler in the summer once my bank account recovers. In the meantime, I'm focusing on tightening up the suspension. |
