F36 Exhaust Vibration Cause (Video)

Hi all. Currently have a F36 440i. Awe axle back and catless downpipe. For a while I have been having this exhaust rattle (intermittent but almost every time I drive) and I really want to get to the bottom of it. It seems to be hitting some component of the car causing an annoying vibration / rattle.

I think it may be the exhaust tips (4") paired with my M sport clone rear diffuser. I went ahead and loosened them and pulled them out a bit for a smidge of extra clearance. However I noticed that there is quite a bit of play in the exhaust. I am not sure if it is normal or not. I can move the last 1/3 of the exhaust just by pushing down/up on the tips.

Is it something with the hangers? I feel like there might need to be an extra support area for this exhaust to be held. I think it could also be hitting this cross brace on the bottom of my car but not sure yet as I haven't driven the car after adjusting the tips. For all I know this could be completely normal. Here is a video of the movement I see. Any ideas or recommendations?

your axle back portion is clearly loose at the sleeve. You can see it moving in and out. Tighten that sleeve. And make sure your axle back is sitting as far in as possible. It looks like the sleeve is barely covering it

What he said. Loosen the clamp, push the axle back further into that midpipe and tighten again. There should be no movement at that joint if it's clamped properly.
