Oil Level Sensor Malfunction Nightmare

Got a 2013 BMW 328i with an oil level sensor malfunction, replaced with a new BMW Hella sensor and still the same, Im getting a code 1C4110 and I checked the harness and its not getting +12v, where do I start? What sends power to the Oil level sensor? Also getting a code for terminal 15n_3 and MAP thermostat disconnected.

Looks like both of those circuits are powered from the DME:

Looks like that power is via F03 (the 15n_3 error traces to that supply for the DME):

Provided I have the right vehicle looked up in the ETM, it would appear that all traces to a 15A fuse in engine-bay power distribution box.

Replaced fuse and error does not exist anymore, oil level sensor fault still exist, does a new sensor need programming? By the way thank you for responding to my post!

Given where the wiring runs, I'm wondering if you have a short to ground in the harness, or a broken wire.

With the fuse replaced: Do you have power at the connector for the level sensor? Is the ground side wire actually a good ground?

The signal wire itself is a PWM signal, which is difficult to check without a scope or higher end multimeter.

There is NO reprogramming necessary when changing sensors.

Checked both ground and terminal 15 and both work at the connector of the sensor, I don’t think PWM wire is working correctly

Your next step would be a continuity test between the DME and the level sensor if you suspect the PWM wire. Alternatively you'll need access to ISTA to run diagnostics via the OBD2 connection.
