Hello guys, need help for next issue.

My friend installed a new NBT Navi Pro unit. Donor VIN is available.
But the Navigation is greyed out in the menu. Also NAV button not working.

I have found a simular thread, but no solution is posted:

It's greyed out because it needs an FSC code that matches your VIN to activate it, which you could get on eBay or BMW ag(super expensive). Another option would be to run an emulator which I would only recommend if you are not able to get the FSC codes

I am able to get FSC (FSC extented > StoreFSC > decode).

But how am I supposed to get the NBT navigation working? How to activate it?

Since you replaced the headunit the FSC code on the head unit is linked to the donor vin not your vin. So you need to code the new headunit to your vin and then a new FSC code linked to your vin

You need to get the repair FSC kit for your VIN ordered from BMW and swap the codes over so that Navigation, Voice Control and all other applications can work again. These are anti-theft codes that prevent head units from being installed to other vehicles.

Hi guys.

I just bought a 3 series 2008 with a cic idrive and have the same problem as OP. Sat nav is greyed out. The guy who sold me the car said I just need an update for the maps. Is this correct? Am I able download the maps and simply install?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm pulling my hair out with this.

Are you using this on your E60 or on an F chassis car?

I have the same issue as OP.

My navigation is greyed out and satellite radio is not greyed out but it has an empty list when I click on it (not even the siriusxm preview channels). The ESN number on the satellite radio is empty as well. Please I'll appreciate any help in advance.

It sounds like your head unit was not replaced properly as it is currently not activated to your VIN. If you need this fixed, feel free to send a PM.

I think I might have the same problem, just purchased 2013 BMW 520d checked car VO online and its comes with Navigation from factory. Its a RHD UK car.

But the Navigation option is greyed out? What do I need to do to get it back working?

sorry I'm new to this thread I can't figure out how to start a PM. You can PM me and we can go from there. I will like my new head unit to be activated for my VIN so I can get navigation, satellite radio and voice command back.

Hi Steve I have a question, I replaced the head unit on my 2014 f30. because mine was bad and kept rebooting every 3 minutes.(I still have it). the used replacement from a different car works great but now navi is grayed out on the screen. Was wondering is there any way to export the FSC from the old one and import it to the new one?

It's possible but very cumbersome as you would need to store and save the certificate file and FSC file every application. Also if the creation date for the existing files on your replacement NBT are newer than the files you have on your old unit, they would not be accepted on the new unit.

I am not sure of the vin of the donor vehicle since I bought the vehicle with the unit already installed, is there a way I can pull this info from the NBT.
