Anyone know how comfort closing actually works?

When I park on a hot day I'll usually vent my sunroof open, and about half the time when I comfort lock the car the sunroof closes itself, and the other half it stays open. Does anyone know how this actually works?

Sometimes the signal just isn't great so you have to press and hold a few times.

There is also a built in delay that you can code on how long you need to hold the button down for before the windows open/close. I've coded my windows to close immediately, but sunroof I think I have a second or two delay before closing. Immediate open for all of them.

I have all that coded in, and the closing actually works as designed when I want everything to close, but sometimes I want to leave my sunroof vented and it still closes upon lock. Just not sure why it only happens sometimes.

There's a separate option for comfort closing windows and comfort closing roof.
My default setting has the roof a couple additional seconds on top of the windows.

i.e. comfort closing window delay: 2 seconds
Comfort closing roof delay: 10 seconds

Thanks, I'll go back in and check tonight. Maybe I have the delay too short.

This happens to me too. Sometimes I'll leave the sunroof cracked and lock the car and it will shut. Other times it stays open. No rhyme or reason to it. I just quick-press the lock button and let go to try to avoid the sunroof closing but it will still close occasionally. Have to check what my closing delay is as well.

I thought you had to hold the button continuously to open or close it? I know that's the deal for me to open mine. Now, I did muck with coding around this once, so maybe it's something I buggered up.

No, you're correct, which is what's weird. Generally if I want to close everything I have to hold the button, but sometimes the sunroof just closes even with a quick press.

Strange that it just goes all the way sometimes though.

So I checked my settings in bimmercode and it doesn't matter what I set my closing delay to, the sunroof will randomly shut (when tilted upwards) when I lock the car. I've tried several different closing delays and have my sunroof delay set to the maximum length of time and it still happens regardless. Perhaps it's a built in feature that can't be adjusted via coding? Weird though that it doesn't happen every time.

Mine does the exact same thing regardless of what the delay is set to. Super weird.

This is normal function. If you have the delay set too short, the event will ALWAYS be triggered by the lock button on the fob, but for my car, I can actually let go of the handle right before the sunroof starts to close if I am locking the car with comfort access. Same thing with the mirrors not folding

I never lock the car with the fob, I always use comfort access. The sunroof will randomly close regardless if I just quickly tap the touch pad or press and hold for a second.

Last week I had an incident that my roof was not fully close without knowing and it was raining. Now my roof lining is peeling off.
My I know how to setup in Bommercode to close the sunroof and windows fully when I lock the car immediately?
