Square like Diesel86

Diesel86...followed your lead. Yesterday took off the staggered 19s with my former M6 Style Reps.

Installed OE Style 351, takeoffs from a 535i. 19x8.5 et 33 and I put on 255-35-19 all around.

Really, really happy with the outcome. Wheels dont 100% grab me because they look too stock but the offset, ride and handling much improved.

I loved my 19 M6 Reps, fairly light and very aggressive looking. 235-35-19 on 19x8.5 et 35 fronts and 275-30-19 on 19x9.5 et 38 rears but being a base model with a softer suspension, there was just too much understeer, push in the front end. I made this claim before and someone said it might not be the staggered set up but something else.

After installing this squared set up, the understeer is gone completely, no push, now carves around corners without feeling like the front end is trying to hang in there. Offset is just about perfect, if I was picking, could add 3 to 5mm spacer to rears but better off not. Lowering the car wasnt an option. Wife is a car lover too but she already brushes curbs from time to time with wheels..dont need to pull a front bumper off too. She has the Audi and I just about cry every time I look at the wheels...

Wow! That's cool you were able to fit 255's all around. I think the et33 offset is the sweet spot for 8.5" fronts and allows for a little more tire width. The fitment guy who took the measurements for my car said that there is a lot of room in the front wheel wells. Those wheels look really good. Congratulations!

I'm thinking of running a similar setup, is the spacing on the rears all that noticeable when looking from the top of the fender?

No not really, in fact I was surprised because they actually look just about the same. If I pushed them out, 3mm which is a tiny change might help a little but if I went 5mm, I am betting I might possibly rub if I was lowered or since not lower, if I really hit a big dip and compressed the back alot.

Diesel86 has 19x8.5 et30 all around with 245/40 and his is perfect as well, not lowered but he said he is getting a little rubbing in the front upper part of the wheel well when really compressed.

The pictures dont do it justice, looks even better in person.

So the only real issues are bottoming out? The wheels I want to go with are 20x9 with a 245/30 tire, I'm hoping I don't have to get spacers for the rears, and I only bottom out at extremes...

Bottoming out should be your only issue but I didnt see what offset you were looking at...Avante Garde has a similar wheel to my OEs that I wanted and they were 19x9, my real preference. Cant recall the offset but apparently that is an idea setup. Yours being 20s will look great. What wheels and make sure you post pics please.

Haha, I didn't want jack your thread. But I'm looking at Vossen CV5's in Matte Graphite machined:

20x9 et35 all around, wrapped with 245/30/20 Continental ExtremeContact DWS All Season (I need to go with all seasons because I don't have the cash to be switching off tires, nor the room, and I live on top of a hill in snow country). I'm planning on going full stormtrooper and tinting out everything that's not white, so I think the Vossen's will set it off just right.

Do you have any experience ordering rim+tire packages? So far the best price I've found is http://www.getyourwheels.com/ ... they told me they can install a non-OEM TPMS (which I hope won't cause me grief).

No jacking at all....the idea was to open conversations because even in the second year of this car, we are all still figuring out what works for the F30.

Thats a great looking Vossen. Sounds like the size and offset might be just about perfect.

Unfortunately I do have too much experience with Rim-Tire Packages, ask my wife, she'll tell you I have a wheel problem like she has a shoe and handbag problem

I used to shop exclusively online but here is what I did. I kept needed help locally and every time I went to a smaller shop, they f---d something up. The bigger/better shops were too expensive.

A friend of mine went to work for America's Tire/Discount Tire in another city and he told me, gets your best deal and then either call the local America's Tire Center and quote them, they will meet or beat the price or you can shop www.discounttiredirect.com. They will also meet or beat the price and ship them straight to you or straight to a local America's Tire place for install.

Dont worry about aftermarket TPMS, used them plenty on other cars. I didnt know there were any out there yet for the F30 but as long as the frequency is correct so the car recognizes them, then they will work fine. These F30s are a pretty simple system now. Not as intricate as others and not as sensitive unfortunately. Audi went to a similar system.

Hope that helps!

I just picked up my F30 M-Sport and switched out my wheels with the square set-up I was using for my 535xi.

Avant Garde 359 19 x 9 et35
with 245/40/19

No issues or rubbing.

Now I just need to figure out how to get the thing to stay in Sport mode.....

Sorry to revive an old thread. I've been searching the forum for days looking at various wheels/tires/offsets. I'm looking to do 19x8.5 et35 sqaure setup on my F30 M-Sport. I'd love to do 255/35 all around as pkancel, but not sure about rubbing in front. I'm lowered slightly with H&R springs. Thoughts?

Sorry for the delay in responding, have been traveling. 255/35/19 et 35 will work fine with no issues, even with being lowered. Mine are 255/35 19 ET 33 so they are pushed out 2mm further than your et35. My car is somewhat lowered with the BMW sport springs but even if it was dropped a little more, the tires and offset would clear with no problem.

In fact, as I wear out these tires I am going to do a square set up of 265/35/19 so I can get little wider tire. Granted slightly taller as well but minimal.
