ENET cable with LED
I have built myself an ENET cable, following instructions in this post:
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...71&postcount=1 It works perfectly. However, I would like to add an LED that indicate the activity, like others OBD2 cables / devices have. I know it is not so useful, but I would like it Could somebody explain how to connect the LED? |

To indicate activity you would not connect an LED directly, it would have to be interfaced with a driver. The only direct connection possible would be to the + voltage and ground pins, which would show that the car ignition is turned on, but you don't need an LED to know that.

Why bother, one of the important things when coding is to minimise power draw as much as possible, yes I know an led would be a tiny draw but it really serves no purpose. As you’ll know when it working and you get a connection.
