5/2015 with Radio Prof. should be already HU_Entrynav. At this HU you can also retrofit just the big 8,8" screen. I´ve done it at my car. Just as info, if you might mainly want the big screen.

By the way, I had 6WA originally with HU_Entrynav.

Interestsing, how do I tell mine is the HU_ENTRYNAV? Possible to see this from VIN?

EDIT: Just got the confirmation from a local coder that my HU is indeed the HU_ENTRYNAV.
Now this makes retrofitting a lot more easier haha

The fault memory shows: "B7F8C8 CID: Overvoltage". But even if CID is disconnected!
If I try to trigger CID-related ECU-functions of HU_NBT2 via Ista this error comes up: "Incorrect status: Error_ECU_conditions_not_correct".

What is wrong? Any ideas? Would appreciate any help...
Are you using the 8.8" CID or the 6.5" that came with ENTRYNAV?

I tried of course the 8,8" CID. The reason why it is not working, is really the voltage. Because with my Entrynav (coded to 8,8") it is working fine. Ista claims 7,5-9V as normal for this CID.

Meanwhile I measured CID voltage of my NBT Evo, which is really higer: 12V and 13,8V when engine running. I made the same for my Entrynav and it supplies always 8,2V. Thus either something with my NBT2 is wrong or it really works with higher voltage.

Also I´ve found out that NBT Evo uses another version of CID ... which maybe works with higher voltage? According to BMW the part nr. is really different (9387453 Alpine 3011) and not exchangeable with the older CID L7 (9292248 Alpine AL3008) I have.

Further NBT Evo seems to have Apix2 as standard, the former NBT and Entrynav use Apix1. Maybe this might be a reason? Although NBT2 offers coding settings to different Apix modes too. I´ve tried them: With Apix2, Apix3 or Auto my CID shows "no signal". With my current coded mode Apix1 it would probably communicate but then the overvoltage problem comes up.

If someone with NBT Evo could measure the voltage at the end of his CID-cable, I would know for sure. Aritaurus?

I'm pretty sure that the CID for EVO is different because it's made by Kyocera now as opposed to Alpine.

Any way I can check voltage without taking out the CID? I don't want to mess with a brand new car lol

You´re probably right in general.
Regarding the manufacturer: as far as I know only the F20 new CID versions are from Kyocera. The new CID for F30 series are still made by Alpine.

Unfortunately not You´d need to unplug the cable and therefore to take out the CID.

I can understand you

Maybe I should try a small voltage regulator to reduce to 7,5-9V which my CID likes...

Hi,

I'm about to upgrade my 6NH (No combo but bluetooth phone and usb are functional.) to NBT.

My vehicle's production date is July 4th, 2012. Is my vehicle compatible with the 2015 NBT units? Of course keeping in mind that I should use the NBT emulator I guess. Thanks in advance.

Not an easy thing.

After you calculate SVT Target (SVT_soll), check the box that says "HW-IDs from SVTactual" and then Save it. If HWEL is Black only, no Red / Blue HWEL, then you can proceed to flash it.

If HWEL is not Black only, the only thing you can do is try different I-Step Shipment dates until hopefully one works. This is simply Trial and Error.

Thanks for the tips.
A couple of more questions
When I flashed the car today, it wouldn't flash with the original FA which has production date 0712. Just gave an error that Impossible to update VCM without a proper FA. After I changed the production date from 0712 to 0713( which I changed due to NBT VO coding), the flash process proceeded with no error.
Is there anyway to change SVT back to 0712(orginal FA)? So that everything can be flashed with 0712 instead of 0713.
Is there any toolon a laptop to monitor battery voltage?
Much appreciated

SVT has no Build Date. FA Does. But you will never be able to VO Code entire SVT using 0712 Date, as NBT is invalid for your chassis and that Date.

No idea on laptop battery voltage monitoring.

Do you have any tips that I can flash the ECUs except NBT(retrofit) with 0712, and flash NBT indvidually with 0713?
The problem now is that with FA 0712 at TAL processing, it gives an error that "VCM can not be updated without a proper FA" I have to use the FA with 0713 to flash other ECUs.

Hi,

hi I do have a 07 / 12 made F 30 and I'm planning to retrofit Nbt. So could you update me if you succeeded retrofitting with all the functions?

Additionally, if you did, are all Nbt's (late 2015 made) compatible? Do you use an emulator; saw some guys retrofitting without the emulator?

Retrofit is quite straightforward for me, the only missing functionality is radio. because the antenna amplifier is not the same.
What you need to check is that you have bluetooth, mic, combox(could be more complicated if you have it) and if you already have diversity phase shift antenna amplifier.
You don't need to flash NBT, but code it with your VO. you can find this information here.

Not possible to generate ROUTE Map FSC Code, but if you think 50-100 € is expensive, you are driving wrong brand of car.

Price seems expensive, I think the benefit of some expensive, some charge €100, other $ 50, cheapest I've seen is $ 50.

If you think that is expensive, get quote from dealership.

And when you compare price, make sure you are comparing price for ROUTE map, and not normal map. They are not same. ROUTE and EVO Map update are more.

Hello, doing NBT retrofit in 2012 F30 with 2015 NBT model (HW31)
But HVAC is turning on and off when NBT is connected.
Using the original idrive controller plug to connect the new Touch controller.

Anything else needs to be done, by ready the first few pages of this thread I do not see anything mentioned about that.

Cheers

Hi

I had VO coded BMW live on my hu_entry in the past. Today I retrofitted NBT and it is functioning good. At first BMW live was active and working great. But then it disappeared suddenly when I pressed "update bmw services." By the way retrofit is registered to BMW by FSC. No emulator or what so ever. Any ideas how to re-enable BMW live? Also office does not show messages and calender. Any help?
