Door Puddle Lights Car wont start

I Got the bmw door puddle lights off of amazon after installing them it no longer recognizes my key until i change back to my stock puddle lights. Its there a fix for this. Or are there puddle lights I can buy that wont cause this error? Ive seen its a common issue.

Never had those issues but I’ve bought off Amazon before.

Thing to keep in mind is they only last about a month before they visibly fade and after 3-6 months you might as well jsut pull the insert out and leave ‘em white cause the logo will be gone.

Or buy a set for 20 buck and when they wear out get another set jsut for cars n coffee, night cruises etc and swap back to the old set when done in 5minutes.

I meant to do that this time but waited too late to swap back to the now white first set… so I need a 3rd set. Lol.

Never heard of that happening either. I have a set I bought from eBay for like $16 about a year ago I think. The tri-color "M" puddle lights. No issues other than the fading like mentioned above. My "M" is still clear and visible, but the white part of the light is turning blue.

This has been well documented. Some work OK, some don't. I don't know of anyone who's figured out exactly why.

I'll assume you have comfort access and it isn't recognizing the key. I had this issue. Removed the puddle lights and problem went away. No idea why but that was the only thing I changed and immediately had comfort access and starting issues.

I just bought a second set 2 months ago and they are no longer on Amazon. They were “Grolish” brand. $14.99 a year ago, 17.99 last time for set of 4.
Yes I have comfort access.

Sorry, I don't. I went back to my order email confirmation, but the link doesn't work anymore. Even doing a quick search on eBay, I can't seem to find these door projectors at all anymore, at least not for BMW.

I put the BMW puddle lights on my car (from Amazon) about a week after I got it. Since then, I have had to jiggle the keys in my pocket to get the car to start. I would always get KEY NOT DETECTED unless it was in direct line of sight with the column. After reading this thread, I put the stock lights back in, and I have not had this error yet.

Another forum stated his factory lights had 3 pins, and the projectors only had 2. Implying something was missing from the AM lights. Well my car has a 4 pin connector but only 2 wires...So that theory is out the window. But there is def something at play here. The light modules are CAN lights. Giving them 12v won't turn them on. So I wonder what else is on that board.
