I'm somewhat out of touch since moving to the dark side, where are the sharpest pencils in the BMW world these days? Have a colleague keen on an X1 sdrive20i MSport.

I remember Blue Bell were great for me on the F36 and Halliwell Jones on the X7.

John Clark were pretty decent at one point, but it seems very model dependent. They were close to the old forces prices for the X5 and X3M when I bought mine, but for an X1 sdrive20i the pricing seems quite punchy (or maybe I'm just out of touch):

I just bought an X1 and the best I could manage after 3 different dealers was 4.5% discount and 50% off the 19” wheel options. Good luck but it was really difficult getting them to move

Have a search on Autotrader and also the BMW site for any dealers with cars in stock. They should be keener to do a deal especially if he moves fast before the end of the sales quarter now at end of March.

For some reason, X1 always seems expensive (to my mind anyway)

Thanks guys for all the ideas. That DtD deal looks pretty strong.

Always shocking looking at car prices now when you look at what we were all paying prior to mid-2020. People were picking up X3Ms for around the prices above iirc.

Yeah…£549 down and £549pm for the X3M before they switched from ID6 to ID7.

Im well out of touch, just spotted piston heads article on the new GR Yaris. £45k. Which is £10k up on the Gen 1 🤯

DtD always seem to come out on top, MB.
I went used in January when looking for a petrol estate. The PCP deals just weren't there on my shortlisted cars. 9 mths old, 5k miles and £14k off list. Not as nice as buying new, of course, but attractive nonetheless. I paid off the used PcP finance within 14 days with a one-off 'customer loyalty special' bank loan. All a bit of a hassle but the halcyon days of tiny deposits and v low single figure interest rates are a distant memory for now 🥴

Rates are dropping quietly though

Where we saw 11/12/13.9% recently these have fallen a couple of percentage points in some cases

The wife's new MINI was on 6.9% which was almost as cheap as anything else

Agreed. Was offered 12.9 on my BMW last year so didn't buy, just obtained 8.9 on my Astra Hybrid, both late plate and used.

Manufacturer rates are slowly falling too.

Blue Bell Crewe are now part of Lookers. Not dealt with them but did speak to Lookers in Stoke on Trent just before Christmas and they were willing to do a strong deal on a new M4.

I didn't go with it in the end as didn't fancy ID8 but that's another story.

Halliwell Jones in Warrington have been my go to for a long time and I've always been able match C2C or DTD deals with them.

Nice to see you mate. I've never forgotten "what a f***ing car" and your recommendation of Blue Bell that got me into the 440i, having previously been thinking of leasing a 420d.

BTW what are you in now Rukka

Cheers Mashin. I still read the forums but don’t post much these days. Yeah I remember that post (one of many on the 440i). They were and are still good cars. I have been trying to talk Mrs Rukka out of her TT and into one but she’s set on another TT.

I went sensible for short time last year and swapped the M4 I had for a Mini Cooper S. Then had an Evoque after that. Hated the road noise in the mini so that lasted 2 months. Liked the baby RR but just wasn’t for me in the end.

So had a “review” of all the cars I’ve been lucky to own and decided I needed another M in my life. That’s when I was dealing with Lookers in Stoke. In the end I went used as prefer ID7 to ID8 so I bought a very lightly used (12 month old and 2200 miles) G82 in Sau Paulo Yellow. Got that for a steal from Cotswold in Hereford. They were good to deal with on the M4. So much so I bought it unseen/undriven and just had it delivered a few days before Xmas as a pressie to myself.

So many gone leccy on here now - should have a sub-sub forum

My first post over here for awhile Rukka but fully deserved.

That is a cracking car and an even more cracking colour (I had to google it).

Love it. Enjoy 💪🏼

Nice one Rukka, sounds a good buy and a lovely vehicle.

It does feel like more former F3x/BMW owners have gone leccy than any other section of society 😂
