n55 335i Exhaust question

Hey Guys,

So the midpipe for the n55 F30 BMW is 3" in diameter and it turns into 2.5" right when it hits the muffler. Anyone run 3" all the way out? Will this affect anything?

Basically looking to run a custom exhaust with a y pipe connecting from the midpipe that goes into 2 vibrant resonators. A lot of people have this setup to eliminate drone and keep the aggressive sounding muffler delete however my problem is that there is no 3" to 2.5" y pipe left on the market. Here's the link that goes nowhere.

https://picclick.com/304-Stainless-S...441887837.html

Now there are 3" to 3" y pipes available. Would this work? Would making the diameter bigger in this area cause less noise or back pressure (burbles)?

Thanks for any insight!

i ran 3" all the way back to a SINGLE exit (put the 328 diffuser on) and it sounds nasty. everywhere i go i get told how badass it sounds. want more pops but you dont have a tune? remove the resonator.
