I can't really believe someone could be missold a PCP a dozen or so times. But where there's a bit of compo I guess.

But its not being missold a PCP, its being told the interest rate was x% without being told that the seller was getting extra commission for not offering you a lower rate...

And that could have happened once, twice, never or all 12 times.... and it wasnt allowed.

That maybe so but you were still made clear what the rate was and salesmen have always made commission. One way or another and you still pay for it.

But its still misselling, just like PPI where you were happy with the quote and may even have chosen to add it...

Since when has common sense and fairness figured in the law... just look at means tested punishments in your local rag. Fred Bloggs, unemployed, driving with no insurance, licence, MoT, speeding and being a complete tw*t, fined £150. Jack Brown, director, doing 36 in a 30, fined £963....

The law, as they say, is the law. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you dont.

I've made my mind up, the law is an ass. But if its been broken and works in your favour why not take advantage, sure many others will...

You do what you fancy. I'll particularly look at the Close brothers and Black Horse deals I had for second hand cars back in the day and see whether that interest rate that they couldnt change was in fact one they could have changed...

You do, they lay in the "the law is an ass but if the world is getting money from this I'd be stupid not to"

So I guess in the not stupid camp?

You are entitled to your view on anything. Given most of the time you are just angling for a response - to the extent you could be one of LobB / cCrabB / NTG's characters - I really couldnt care less.

I'm also claiming a diesel emissions compo for an Audi I bought around the time the cheat device scandal hit and which I sold soon after when my wife died at a significant loss. We'll put that in the greedy and entitled camp too...

I'm also paying every penny I can into my pension to avoid paying tax - is that greedy and entitled too or just doing what the law allows?

Just wonder where your cut off comes between following the law and being greedy and entitled.

I know where mine comes on being in the stupid camp...

If you think I’m just angling for a response, don’t respond. Especially if you don’t care.

You really do come out with the most obscure analogies. Or you don’t read the posts.

Can I claim against Barclaycard, as their interest rates are around 25% p/a?
They MUST be able to offer a lower rate, surely?

I don't ever pay them any interest, but that's not the point!

Not unless they have broken a law in charging you 25%....

I dont care but some of your comments really shouldnt go unanswered. Anyone who follows a well respected financial advice forum and makes a claim is apparently greedy and entitled... or following the advice along with other common sense advice he gives to help people with their money.

Enjoy being bitter about it... which is how it comes across...

Yet again reading something that’s not there.

I'm not trying at all, just taking your words from the "page" and giving an alternate view. Clearly you (like to think you) are a superior individual (something else that comes across, very LobB like) and replaying it back for your own benefit to make you a better person.

You are welcome.

The heyday of PCP and the 'look at my shiny new car' posts seem a dim and distant past on here.

When man maths came into play it was the best decision ever...allegedly. Renting a depreciating asset never won anyone the darwin award and perhaps if you're worried about your pension now, you should have put some money away where it counted back then.

And these guys are now applying for compo

Never worried about my pension although not fortunate enough to have had a golden whammy state pension.... but if you can get 47 / 62 / 42% tax relief on it, its pretty stupid not to max out your contributions each year if you can afford it..when its not your employer (aka other tax payers) picking up the bill.

Although I think some of the people I grew up with in a mining village would call that greedy and entitled...

PS i didnt buy a car on PCP until 2017 and didnt buy myself a new car until 2002 and then not again until 2017.... always HP or cash and always slightly second hand. They are in fact, based on the above and the firms listed, more likely to be affected....

By the way, renting a depreciating asset IS the way to do it, you should buy appreciating ones to make money (hence why my cash is in stocks and shares ISAs, pensions and property... although I did buy the Mini outright..)

Other than that, quite accurate...

The law allows you to claim for being injured; but doesn't mean you have to have whiplash if you're in a bump.

Thread has gone exactly as predicted.

A few bitter grumpy posters weigh in with their negativity. Have to laugh. Its just a free hit guys, why not?

A decade ago when BMW FS sent me a letter and a cheque for £4800 because for 2 years on my X5 PCP they had forgotten to issue me an annual statement, thus broken some FCA ruling, should I have handed it back? Of course the bitters on here all would have

Cry some more
