335d Preferred options help
Hi All,
Looking to pick a 2 year old 335d, both the same colour but slightly different specs. Both are M Sport plus models ( Msport Brakes, Nav Pro, Harman K, HighBeam assist, as standard) However, I cant decide which is better. ( possible for future resale too) One has an Adaptive M suspension Red Leather but no heated seats. 18,000m 2nd (35,000m) Black leather, doesn't have an Adaptive Suspension, but HUD, Reverse Camera, Adaptive LED, black heated seats,Road Sign detection & Park Assyst. So, is the adaptive suspension a deal breaker or am I better off with slightly higher mileage and more spec. Thanks a mill>> |

I wouldn't touch a car with adaptive suspension but I can understand why some would.
It really comes down to what you're wanting the car for, but saying that you'd probably be better off with the better spec car and put ACS springs and shocks on it and have the best of both worlds 😁 |

The second one.
Some people like the adaptive suspension but in reality it's deeply flawed and doesn't do anything brilliantly. The passive dampers on the second car are unlikely to be brilliant either, but they are easy (and relatively cheap) to upgrade along with some decent springs. Heated seats, HUD (which I'm not bothered about but, again, others love), reversing camera and adaptive headlights are far more useful day to day.

Definitely the second one! Adaptive isn’t great on the 335d, it still needs ACS springs, so you may as well get the one with passive suspension and fit ACS springs.

Seriously though, I'd rather have the higher miles and better options than a lower miles poverty spec car. It might have bragging rights of active suspension but you have to live with the thing day in day out so I'd prefer the toys. Also, passive suspension is much cheaper to fix when it goes wrong.... Good luck with your choice

Thanks guys .
Yeah I'm going with the 2nd one. I think I'd be kicking myself in the teeth if I didnt. I think I prefer the gadgets on the inside then 1 option of adaptive shocks only. Also for leather seats, I think heated seats are a must.. I can't believe BMW doesnt include that option. |
