You would think all that would be standard when you're spending 50k for a car

Really though that's insane, that's why people wait for them to be returned leases and buy them for 16k

Also post a pic let's see how ugly that bumper really is
First of all, find me a CPO 3 year old 328i with those options on a dealer lot right now for $16k, including a link to the website with the car and I'll paypal you $50. You're being dramatic. Most decently optioned CPO 3 series on dealer lots right now, i.e. lease returns, are going for around $22 - $25k

2nd, only a total rube pays MSRP for a car. You could easily get OP's example for $39 or 40k. Still too much? Who knows.

Last, I just came out of a 330i loaner and I still like the car but one thing I agree with is that the base with the 17" wheels, the base body style i.e. no appearance package etc. is a pretty crappy looking BMW.

Oh, and OP, most people don't buy those, they lease them. You could lease that car for like $325 a month and nothing down. I know people leasing Camrys for that kind of money. That should answer your question.

Especially the RFT! Non-RF Pirelli P7's were awesome yet these suck

Cars I've owned / driven daily with manuals:
1963 VW Bug
1985 VW Vanogan
1994 VW Jetta
1998 Chevy Camaro
2016 Subaru WRX

plus several motorcycles.

Cars I've owned / driven daily with automatics:
1998 Dodge Dakota
2010 Ram 1500
2016 Dodge Durango (current)

In regards to the luxury features...hell, my 2010 Ram 1500 had full leather dash, auto tint / tilt mirrors, heated seats, cooled seats, heated steering wheel, memory functions, adjustable pedals and tilt / telescope column wheel, dual zone climate, nav, satellite radio, wifi hotspot, everything.

My Durango has all that as well. The Ram was about $35k, the Durango was $42k. Oh and both have the 400hp HEMI V8, although the newer Durango now has the 8-speed automatic which I love.

Some of my past cars: e36m, e46m, e92 pre-lci 335, e90 lci 335, f25 x3, e92 LCi msport 335, e92 M3, current f48 X1 and f30 335 msport. Decent history with bmw, a few Infiniti's and and an Audi S4 sprinkled in there too!

Loaner car is a 2018 330xdrive non m-sport (which looks terrible) plus the shitty NAV! I was utterly shocked to shit when I saw the sticker in the trunk! Lol how the hell is this car $47,695? I can't understand how somebody would actually shell that out when there are literally tons of "better" cars that can be had in that price range for far less. Everything in the car screams cheap and mundane. It's crazy.

It is worth mentioning my f30 is an msport with EDC, MPPK, MPE, brembos and a bunch of mperf parts so I am spoiled and lucky to have my car spec'd out as it is, but holy shit 50k for this basic ass 330 with very few options is completely insane. The loaner feels like a Toyota Corolla, hell the new Camry is spec'd better and is more comfortable than this car! Steering, road feel, fun to drive? Lol. Hell no. That is long gone for BMW, this is truly a sad day for me!

Then to top it all off my Sales guy and SA we're talking about how bmw will eliminate all manual trannny productions within 3 years! Lol. Damn it actually does get worse.

That is all
My dealer told me manuals will be gone within two years. There is so little demand for them now particularly because e-shifting is so much faster and fuel efficient. Porsche sells less than 6% of their 911 series with manual transmissions.

Seems bmws are a terrible value when you look at it like that!! Lol. My Caddy experience (CTSV coupe, and a bunch of SRX suvs) made me appreciate the finer details they toss in as sensible packages with their cars.

I am just purely addicted to the smell, the feel and the typical feeling that most of my 15 years worth of bmw's has given me. Makes no sense at times, there are more sensible cars for comparable prices....but I'm a sucker for a fucking decent looking bimmer! Lol

Yeah, I get all the most accurate up-to-date information from the dealer...

Lmfao!!! Yeah exactly my man! I'm betting the smell was "engineered" into whatever the hell they manufacture the interior adhesives and materials out of.

If true, it means my first BMW (335i GT) will likely be my last. Was hoping to move up to an M3 in 5 or 6 years, when I don't need the space, but no way I'm buying an M car with a DCT (or ZF8!), regardless of how fast or fuel efficient it is.

People should be grateful to get a BMW anything loaner. If you want a rather pathetic driving experience, look no further to Kia/Hyundai entry level products...

I hear, but BMW and the market at large are catering to the masses that demand supple rides, easy to turn steering wheels and generally isolated driving g experiences. Sales to enthusiasts don't pay the bills. Catering to the masses do.

I agree. Interestingly, the dealer i use appears to have done away with loaners all together. They now have an enterprise desk right inside the dealership. When i brought in my 340 a month ago for squeaking door seals they gave me a ford expedition. Thing is huge, but i had fun with it for few days.

Have you driven one yet? I drove manual for 20 years before my DCT M3. It's not like driving an automatic at all. Besides, you will be hard pressed to find a manual anything in the near future, even in sporty cars. It's just the way of the future and you can either keep up or get left behind.

I’d rather be left behind. In terms of driving dynamics, some technologies are not improvements. EPS anyone?

The likes of Ferrari disagree, but I feel you, I miss my manual sometimes too, but after being on the track with the DCT I'm convinced of it's advantages.

The manual transmission is a relic of the 20th century. It should be left there along with carburetors, chokes, drum brakes, hood prop bars, halogen headlights, motorized seatbelts, etc....

Do you enjoy driving or is a car an appliance to you?

I don’t believe you need a manual transmission to enjoy driving. With the AT you can shift if you want to. There are probably people who lament not having to turn a key to start the car now.
