Jumped ship

Here’s my “new” barge. Just need to fathom out all the features. Hopefully a good choice, having pushed the boat out a little earlier than strictly needed. There’s plenty of room in it to swing a cat, so should be good.

Now Volvo do make some very nice looking cars. Good luck with it. I'm thinking R Design Plus or Pro with T5 or 6 motor..? But it could be an inscription looking again at front grille...

Our XC60 will be 3 years old this September. It's been a great family car.

Enjoy your '90

Cheers. It's the same 2018 one I mentioned on here before, but it turns out it's a T6 Inscription Pro, not a lowly old Inscription as indicated - ho ho! Extras are the 22" wheels which I didn't really want, but the ride is still pretty good with air suspension; it has a CD player which most don't these days - so that's good for the Bowers & Wilkins! Blonde interior, heated steering wheel and rear seats. etc etc!

Good to hear it comes with rear seats. Always beneficial in a large family SUV I find!

Always thought these Volvo's look great and yours certainly does. Some of comfiest seats around too! Be good to hear how it drives as you settle in with it.

Lovely, Inscription Pro is a beautiful spec. Enjoy wafting around the place!

Volvo's game is strong right now. Nice rims on that too. Enjoy!

I cant help it no matter how nice Volvos look inside and out I am still scarred by the D5 I had gearbox and tech. That Xc does look very nice though and for a big family wafter I'm sure is great.

We had a R Design XC90 which we loved. Only thing I'd have changed would have been to put a BMW 3.0 diesel in it! Would have been perfect then.

Sadly it was written off on the A1 when a HGV went into the back of it. Mr TP walked away from it so it did it's job.

Volvo broke my heart when they discontinued their five-cylinder motor. I just loved that warble.

Have Volvo sorted the annoying screen controls in the middle? Had the R-Design T5 estate (or whatever the topish spec one is) when I had the EGR recall 2019. Trying to do anything on that touch screen whilst moving was a total pain! Only wanted to change the climate control but doing 70 on the motorway your finger moves a few mm and next thing you've set your sat nav to Glasgow, seat heating is on max and the rear wiper is going haywire 🙄

Yes a lot is controlled by the touch screen, although they keep adding voice commands as an alternative I guess. I think it's a mixed bag. Some things I think are likely to be selected "permanently on" so maybe have another screen for those so that the icons for frequent use stuff can be made bigger to hit at speed! Might be easier if I was a leftie...!

No still the same, that was the least of my tech irks tbh. Cr8p sat navigation, pointless parking sensors and useless gearbox did it for me.

I have touch screen and voice control now and to be honest, never miss the idrive controller. In fact, was a bit miffed in the mini at how much twirling and clicking I had to do to change radio stations the other day....#

You luddites will get with it eventually
