High mileage 435i
So ive found a m sport 435i coupe on bmw's website with perfect service history, the only downside is that it has 93k miles on it. Should I pull the trigger and take the risk on this car? are any costly repairs coming in the near future for the car?

This is strictly my opinion. If you are following this board, you know BMWs are expensive to maintain. If the only way you can afford a BMW is with almost 100k miles on it. Maybe you shouldn’t be looking at BMW. Unless you are very handy.

+1 if you're handy. go for it. If the extent of your knowledge is to take the car to the dealer when something breaks, i'd hard pass.

Get a Carfax and Pre-purchase inspection so you would have an idea of what has been done and what needs to get done with the car you're looking at.

It's always helpful to learn if the car had any mods. Not a precise science.
If you do buy the car and charge pipe is still OEM, replace it with Evolution Racewerks charge pipe. |

I got mine with 86K miles. My last bmw went from 140K to 386K miles. I agree with the posts above, but will add that if you are handy, it could be not only the best car you've ever had, but also the cheapest.
$100 in tools will get you to probably 90% of the repairs you'd need...along with a lot of time studying. realoem.com will give you part numbers newtis.info will tell you what to do with parts fcpeuro is a reliable supplier of parts

I have a 14' 435i M-Sport with 84k miles. So far it's been great but I maintain it properly. You'll definitely save big bucks if you're willing to do most of the maintenance yourself. At 84k I've done: Spark Plugs, Engine Coils, Valve Cover Gasket, Oil Filter Housing Gasket, Intake Manifold Gasket, Front Struts, Coolant Overflow line, Battery, Accessory Belt/Tensioner, and of course the normal oil/filter change, brakes, wheel alignment, etc. Most of the items I mentioned above, I performed as preventative maintenance (nothing really was broken, just catching it before it breaks).
Also, my N55 started developing rough idling on startup which was incredibly fixed by a couple $4 bottles of Techron fuel system cleaner. These engines seem to love it, so I suggest you ran a couple through it once you buy it.

I wouldn't buy a BMW with more than 50K miles on it.

My last bmw I got with 140K miles on it because I had to have a manual 3-series and an ugly green one was the only one around. Retired it with 386,321 miles on it. I'm OCD and maintain machines really well. Cheapest 'and' the best car I ever had. We'll see about this, but I'm planning on getting it up there and treating it right. The other thing about a high mileage bmw not mentioned is that this is a car that someone depended on for many years and undoubtedly maintained...often mostly highway miles. Plus you save $. I'd almost rather the car you picked than a 2 year old one with low miles from an owner who knew he/she/e/it was going to get rid of it soon on a lease and didn't give a crap about how they drove it.

I think the whole 100k miles bmw thing is overblown. I own an e90 328 with 180k miles a f30 335 with 120k miles and a m4 with 16k miles. All have been bulletproof to this point. If the maintenance was done these cars last
