Old car gone, BCA estimate for repairs is £174 but the guy thinks that BMW won't bother as they're not that fussy.

He did mention that VW on the other hand will charge for the slightest thing - guess they have to pay for the Dieselgate fines somehow

Whoever said that BCA repair estimates are way lower than anywhere else was spot-on.

Unless it's a big dent or something, looks like it's not worth paying to repair (unless it bothers you) as it's cheaper to leave it be, with the potential chance of there being no actual charge in the end.

I had £168 worth of damage when i VT’d in september - cracked rear bumper which would be over £1k for bmw to repair.... nothing back from bmw and got the clearance!

Never worth privately repairing a bmw going back.

We handed back my Wife's Skoda Yeti via BCA a few years ago.

It was due back on a Tuesday following a bank holiday weekend. Guess what she did on the preceding Friday evening...

Guess the charge...£££...???

I'll be gobsmacked if zero as it shouldn't be. The BCA guy I had said they had laid off a few people this week as they hadn't shown damage on returned cars when they should have.

Nothing stopping them ignoring damage but there will be consequences if they miss big stuff.

Reminds me of that time I agreed to trade in a renault clio A LONG time ago, 48 hrs after agreeing a price clipped a curb and it needed a new axle....

That's crazy - hope I get the same inspector when my current car goes back! No damage at the moment, but it might pick up the odd blemish in the next couple of years.

My current car is a PCH from Leasys. Anyone know if they also use BCA people to collect?
