If you're hitting a fuel limit then you need more flow. I'm not sure adjusting the mix will help. More/bigger nozzles are in your future.

Is there a reason people don't just drill/tap the manifold and run 6 nozzles?

Edit: duh. intercooler. nevermind.
Yup, if intercooler wasn't in the way I would be using the ProMeth hard line kit like they have on the N54/N55. Oh well. I'll probably upgrade to ProMeth 630cc Nozzles and see if that helps. My plan for the next year is to go with a HPFP upgrade and pick up a Big Boost kit. I'd like to comfortably make 650whp, maybe 700whp on kill mode.

I agree, same boat as you. My JB4 has recently been going into Map 8 mode (from WMI 7), error is fuel pressure dropping. I only went 2-3gal of E85 on this last fill up, but either I got a bad batch of fuel or something is up.

This car needs fuel!

Ever since switching to meth i've switched to E29-E28 mixes because running a full E30 my HPFP crashes. Luckily the meth makes up for the lower octane.

HPFP is a must if you really want to max out the stock turbo on these cars (or meth works too)

Yeap, just dropped my E85 content to about 1-2gal for 13-14 of 93 with Meth. No idea what that equates too from an E rating, but the HPFP isn't crashing anymore. Trying to figure out my next bolt on to make this thing faster, but I'm afraid I'm all out of bolt ons to try at this point haha.

Might screw with XDelete for fun and go hit the dyno and real 1/4 mile again. Went 11.4 on dragy, but I want a real world track time.

I'm one of few thats running MP's updated fuel pump. There's some machining that goes into the process. The new fuel pump sits a bit higher than the previous one did, so it sticks out a small bit. I had issues running into, what I thought was timing being pulled, on MP's stage 2.5 flash on 91. Ran fine with 2 gallons of E. Come to find out this wavy throttle feel was just the car running out of fuel (moderate throttle). Plan is to go with Pure's updated turbo when it becomes available, and mayyybbee run some meth for cooling, and take it from there. I've been able to run 3-5 gallons of E safely and without issue for some time now with MP's new pump. The process went like this: I purchased the pump from BMW Riverside, dropped the car and new pump off at MP. He tuned/logged and modified/installed the pump for a flat fee.

So with the boost increased a tad and able to go up to 5 gallons of E have u had it dynoed since or what does the butt dyno tell u in terms of hp increase from the mods?

Be patient guys. XDI has their B58 pump in beta testing right now, so it'll drop soon enough. It'll probably be $2300, but it is what it is. I'd love to make 475-480 wheel on the stock turbo with no meth, just E30-E40.

Looking at the logs from my drag runs WGDC is at 87% - 90% over 5000RPM to try to maintain 19PSI boost at the manifold. Charge air temp climbed from 155 F at the tree to 324 F at 19.3PSI/6200RPM in 5th gear (90% WGDC)

CPI/meth injection would help to control the charge air temps, but how much more useful boost do you think we can achieve from the stock turbo?

Assuming I'm at about 420 wheel HP, just adding XDI HPFP and full E85 I'm thinking maybe only another 20 - 30 HP max. Not great value for money. Add a bigger turbo and it'd be a different story.

$2300??? Sounds like a much better value going with Alex. I've spoke to him and his numbers aren't near that high.

Much rather figure out a way to retrofit Supra pump or wait for Spool's pump than use XDI bullshit. It might be a good pump but i'm not buying anything from a company that price gouges the way they do. $2300 for a pump is criminal.

So the meth actually made zero difference in IAT's for me. I have a feeling it's because we're injecting it pre-intercooler.

Off-topic question, but what is Pure's updated turbo and when is it coming out?

Bumping this thread. I've been in touch with Tom Wrigley Performance and he said he swapped the B58TU pump into his m240i. All he had to do was extend the wiring. Didnt mention anything about tuning or flashing to compensate for the HPFP. His car is putting down 701rwhp on race gas and meth and about 600rwhp on 93 and meth. He's using a PS2 (I believe he has the hp record).

They look incredibly similar. What's interesting is that the supply line is the same and the rear fuel rail is the same between Gen 1 and TU. The front fuel rail is different, but that's probably because it comes with a fuel pressure sensor. That sensor will need to have a higher threshold than ours to compensate for the pumps higher pressure range.

I'm just digging, so don't take this as the holy grail. But there are a lot of consistencies. The main concern is the hard line going to the fuel rail. Looks like ours has a bend, where the TU one is a straight 90.

I bought one from Germany. We'll see how this goes. Hopefully full E85 on stock turbo in my future.

I don't think the lines will be a big deal nor the fitting. Are you going to install it w/o remap? Will be interested in seeing your logs.
Sub'd.

Yeah to start off. See what it does with OTS mapping.

Very interested to see your results given that I have moved on from the CPI kit. I'm just waiting until Spring and hoping to do the HPFP, meth kit and a turbo upgrade.

Will do. I was pretty much locked in to get the CPI kit, but then a deal came up on the pump that I couldn't refuse. So I guess we're starting this process earlier than expected

We can confirm the Supra pumps are a direct bolt-on with only a wiring extension. We made the swap yesterday morning in about 20 minutes including the wiring extension. We will be offering the Supra pumps as an add on to our upcoming turbo. We will include wire with crimp/solder/seal connectors on both sides and some split loom. Simply snip, strip, and use a heat gun to make the connections.
