Just installed gfb DV+ without touching or moving the turbo it took about 1 hour and 15 mins and had to make a custom tool but got it done. Took it for a ride just now after car warmed up and yeah you can tell the different at high rpm and shifts pulls stronger or maybe It my mind playing gaming with me lol.

The way I installed it (do at your own risk)

1)Remove intake.
2)Move the wastegate out of the way, held by two screws (mine was EWG)
3)Discount the charge pipe, the side of the turbo outlet (gives you a lot room)
4)Use a 4mm long round head allen key to unscrew the 3 bolts holding the DV
After removing DV and follow GFB instruction.
5)Installing DV is bit tricky now, install GBF part first the then the OEM DV part. They won't fit together so don't try.
6)Hand tighten the bolts.
7)Get a long 5mm round head allen key and grind the body smooth, that's the key because without doing this the tool will not fit!
8)Tighten it, reassemble the rest, and enjoy!

Very impressive. If you have a tool small enough to reach back there, it can be done for sure.

Benefits are that you retain more boost on shifts. The stock DV has about six holes or so to vent the boost, while the DV+ has one. The reason most people replace it aside from the retained boost is that similar to the stock CP, the stock DV is subject to tearing, which leads to boost leaks. For me, it was performance and preventive. Also, I got some niiiiiice flutter out of mine. Sounds great when she shifts now.

Thank you for suming it up!

I wish I had done some logs before and after tho I'm playing around OBD fusion at this time I'll be giving my 2 cents on it shortly and comparing the accuracy to bm3 logs.

Also, window or ios can't really tell in the pic.

The wifi agent via hotspot on the tablet. It's an Android tablet, Galaxy Tab E to specific. PM me if you plan to get a wifi agent!

It was 6mm around head Allen key, then I Rounded the body with a bench grinder. That was for the installation because removal was easy. After that you will have room between the block and dv.

Please excuse the dirty engine bay and my voice lol. It was the one video I took so far and was trying to make sure it wasn't a fluke in the install.

damn that sounds nice! like, wow. do you think that flutter sound will still be achieved with the OEM intake system? also, any downsides to doing a DV? will it require a flash tune?

It's possible, but unlikely. Stock intake silences the DV already. Even with the hood closed and inside the car driving, it has to be relatively quiet to hear the flutter. It's not the same flutter if you had no DV/BOV and were kicking the boost straight back. No downsides that I can think and no tune required.

so how does the GFB DV+ create that flutter sound then? correct me if I'm wrong, but the flutter sound is the sound created when a turbo spins backwards because already compressed air wasn't diverted/recirculated. but, if this DV (and the factory one, I suppose) recirculates air back into the intake system, how come you still get the flutter sound? my knowledge of DVs is basic at best, so please correct me if my understanding is incorrect. just looking for some clarification.

Flutter is created from boost hitting the blades while it's spinning. Think of a fan turned on and you blowing into it. The DV+ does this when you let off the pedal and the boost tries escape, it's now going through one hole, so some is bound to go back. That's why it's not as loud as your normal flutter, but loud enough to hear while in the car.

EDIT: See second page. I asserted the wrong flutter.
