Hello, I have an software issue with the RoadTop NBT iD4 for BMW F36 2016. When I am connected to the android auto and my phone loses cellular network the android auto disconnects but the bluetooth is still connected. It won't work until I disable and enable bluetooth on my phone and then it will connect android auto again. I have my car in underground garage and there is no cellular connection so every time I drive out or into the garrage it disconnects. Is there a fix for that? Thank you in advance.

wrong LVDS cable?
Hey everyone. I was installing my Andream MMI and when I tried to install the LVDS cable into my screen I noticed it was coming out sideways and there wasn't any room to install the screen back since the brackets interfere with the cable. Did they send me the wrong cable? Or am i installing it incorrectly?
I bought my MMI from https://www.android-car-dvd.com/ and talking with them through email, the guy keeps insisting they gave me the right cable... |

Have an F25 (2016) with NBT:
Having a very hard time with the OEM LVDS cable. My understanding is I unplug the LVDS cable from the screen. This needs to plug into the "LVDS IN" on my MMI box. The new/aftermarket LVDS cable then goes from the "LVDS OUT" to the screen. My issue is with the OEM LVDS cable. I unplugged it from the screen, but it is very short. There is NO possible way it can be routed anywhere to reach the MMI box. Anyone else have this issue? Do they make an LVDS extension I could buy to lengthen it? |

I do not know if they sent you the wrong cable, or if there is a cable/plug that would fit at the angle you need it, but you may want to modify the screen mount (looks like the right mount). I installed a 10.25" OEM screen that came from an F-15 model to replace my 6.5" OEM screen. I had to take some off both left and right mounts but without affecting the mounting of the screen itself, and also it's not visible from anywhere unless you take the screen off. Just leave enough so the metal clip stay put. Also, I can place the OEM 6.5" back anytime without any issues. Or if the seller does not fix it, you can look for the proper cable on Ebay or Ailexpress. ![]()

Where are you locating your MMI? On the F30s, there is not enough space behind the NBT HU, and many people place it between the NBT-HU and the glove box (LHD). There is plenty of space there. Or, you can look for a longer cable on Ebay or Aliexpress.

I can only comment with certainty for the F30 that I have. Installation is not hard on the F30 and well worth the outcome. Takes about 30-45 mins if you do not run into any issues. No wire splicing needed for basic functions. Aftermarket cam, etc will require wiring. Maybe you can try with your son's car first, you can suppress his complaints easier than your friend And, then you can recommend (or not) with more certainty to your tech-challenged friend.

I can only speak for my F30 model, but as far as I know, only some CIC and CHAMP units were stuck with having to use the eternal AUX cables that came with the MMI. May want to ask on the i3 forum too.

When I tried to swap the cables, I got "No Signal". I temporarily moved the MMI box near the screen so it would reach, and using the cables properly...things worked. Looks like I need to find an extension or way to have the LVDS cable stretch further. |

Adream bad...
Hello all!
First I DO NOT RECOMMEND Andream products. They do not support their products, and it turns out they mute bad reviews on their website... I have a 2015 428i convertible without nav (6.5" screen). I purchased the Andream 10.25" screen/mmi. It seems like a good enough product to get more screen and Android Auto. The glare is awful, but I bought a laptop anti-glare film and cut it to fit. My problem is that Google Maps always starts in day mode. It doesn't matter if it is set to auto or night. I have to go into the android auto menu and select another mode, and then select night mode. When I start the car the next time it is in day mode, but settings shows it in night mode. If I select Auto mode, it always displays day mode regardless of the time of day or my headlight settings. I emailed Andream and they insist first that there is something wrong with my phone settings. I have the same problem with my Pixel 7 Pro and my wife's Pixel 4. Both of these work fine with the Android Auto in my Acura. After I explain that, they just claim that it is working correctly. Can anyone offer some advice on how to fix this? The info on my device: APP version is : BMW-LZH-2021-12-2023:39:01[f639b2e] MCU version:415199bLZH-NBT-HW7-210927[B1208] OS version:BMW-LZH-d:2021-12-2023:39[04ee779] |

Appreciate the feedback. I'll try swapping the LVDS cables for my next go at it. The seller also has told me they only provide this one version of the cable. Been also looking through ebay and aliexpress for the cable but a little tough to verify which one is the correct one i need.

Your best bet if the seller cannot/will not help (based on how much time you have to wait for delivery and how much money you want to save), is to look on Ebay and Aliexpress. Make sure that you check the color of the plug(s) of whichever cable you are you need to make longer. I know from experience that a purple plug LVDS does not work in place of a pink plug LVDS. The pins may be the same, but their configuration is different, often 180 degrees turned. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=493

If you want to try at the risk of not having a metal sleeve holding your cable coming from the plug....you can carefully try to open up the metal sleeve that extends from the plug holding the cable. You could try to move the cable out of that metal sleeve so the cable is free to bend 90 degrees. The meal sleeve only serves to stop the wires/pins getting pulled out if the cable gets kinked. Of course, you will kink the cable yourself now, but in a controlled way. Or, you can open up the metal sleeve, pull the cable away from it, and carefully bend the metal sleeve near 90 degrees. But do not do it with the cable still firmly inside or you will tear the wires out. Then put the cable back and crimp it gently. ![]()

Yes, do not mess with the OEM cable in case you need to go back to stock.

I think you are in the wrong forum. This is MMI and not Android HU. They have a forum dedicated to that device with Red Erik et al. The MMI does not have a screen, only a control box. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1832178 As far as Andream for MMI and Android HUs. They are the best of all the bad choices in that price range. The Chinese sellers are all bad if you compare them to a First World average company that understand customer service before/during/after the sale. The Chinese do not care about you once you bought from them (like a babe you laid and never called again) unless your negative feedback on their website (or Amazon, etc) scares others away. In that case they will ban you, or delete your posts, or try to bribe you into changing it. There are reputable (near full-service) sellers, like BimmerTech, some European re-sellers, etc...but not in the $200-240 price range. More like $400-650 for the same exact Chinese hardware with a rebranded look and maybe better firmware. But you get a much better service and support. So you decide if you want to pay $200 and DIY with some forum help, or for an extra few hundred dollars you will have them hold your hand.
