Hello everyone, I just bought an Audi Q3 And it has Wakaa CarPlay kit installed.
It works good except for annoying problem. Turn out that every time I connect my iPhone to CarPlay it comes with a new name leaving useless the previous Bluetooth device name so my phone gets full of multiple Bluetooth CarPlay devices, but it’s the same. Do you have any idea? What could it be?

Example I turn the car on and connect my iPhone to CarPlay839c00, I drive 10 miles to my work, I turn off the car and do my things. I return to the car to get back home and when connecting my phone to listen music Carplay839c00 isn’t available anymore. Instead I have to make a new search for Bluetooth device and this time its name is CarPlay835000, and keeps like this every time y turn off and on change the name for a new one, I have even gotten to the point of having up to 15 different names as if they were other devices, but it is the same one, it is really annoying to have to restart the pairing every time I get in the car, as if it were a different car and having the list of saved devices on my iPhone full of different names, please help me.

Are you also paired with your phone in the MMI menu's Carplay setup menu?

Of the cheaper units I am aware of only Andream and Road Top providing suppprt and future software updates. Each seller locks down its MMI with a firmware that is mostly incompatible with any other MMIs.

What is your MMI software version? In the last couple of years Andream and Road Top released a software version that uses Bluetooth for all audio in conjunction with the car's Bluetooth. I do not know how CarPLay and AA use the USB, HMDI, etc..if the same or differently. But for phone calls and navigation and music: instead of setting your OEM HU menu under multimedia -> external to "AUX IN", you set the OEM HU menu to your active external device which s right above "AUX-IN" (iPhone in my case). My MMI is currently broken and only works with "AUX IN" properly. But that's another story.

I gave it to a fellow, who installed it in my car. He was surprised that MIC cable wasn't necessary, but he tested it and it was working fine.

I wasn't testing yet the BT connection through the NBT HU yet.

In phone calls there is the echo for the other side, they hear themselves, so I'd need to play a bit with the settings.

The MMI version is bellow.

Is your pin 5025?

if it is the MMI above, very possible that your firmware is too old to have ull bluetooth audio. About 2 years ago the new CUST VER firmware added full bluetooth. So for now you use AUX IN and bluetooth audio for parts of the audio functions.

As far as the mic echo, there are many posts in this thread on hw you can solve that. The MMI has an auto-configuration for the mic and also you car has settings. I have not experienced it with either AUX-IN or Bluetooth audio.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the rear view camera to display full screen? It is a split screen for me. I am using an aftermarket cam, the normal idrive menu is also set to the correct resolution so i'm a little confused why i get the split screen only when in reverse.

The MMI menu has a setting to show reverse in full screen. Look for it. Turn off the radar.

What does the actual MMI look like? The firmware seems vaguely similar to the MMIs discussed here. The hardware is usually the same Chinese product, just the housing is different colors/labels/venting holes, etc. Very likely this one is sold by a local vendor with some rights to modify the firmware to limit use by their own customers only.

That's the problem with all these MMIs. And even if my unit would be compatible with the firmware from another one, I wouldn't know which one.

In some rare cases CUST Ver firmware from another seller may work. If the PIN code matches with theirs, then more likely, but you are playing russian roulette and likely will brick it.

The seller/company would not provide support? Maybe someone here has the same one. although I did not see this model here.

I did not get a reply from Cartizan's support yet and also didn't find any firmware update or PIN code.

I just noticed that the CUST version number is similar to a previous firmware from Andream.
"EW_NBTCICEVO_GEN5"
firmware: lcbm-EW_B_V5.0.8R1
new version: lcbm-EW_B_V5.2.1

on my box it says:
CUST Version: V5.0.8r1.CPI.b

But I don't want to risk bricking my box.
The firmware binary file is definitely different.
In the file I found: "Version: EW_B_V5.0.8R1", which doesn't match the complete string of mine except the numbers.

I don’t have the USB / Camera plug.

Can anyone give me the pinout?

Especially + 5v(red) -5v (black) data+ data- white&green

did anyone encounter this bootlogo stuck issue?

Have you tried a "forced firmware flash"?

Please lookup the exact procedure in a manual, but it's like:
- power off
- connect USB drive with firmware
- hold down [back] on the iDrive controller
- power on the unit
- keep holding the [back] button for 10+ seconds

I doubt he can do a force flash since he does not have a USB harness/connector. That's why he needs the pin out.

Is there any MMI box that provides touchscreen on factory display for AA/Carplay or are they all limited to navigation using idrive knob?

I have NBT EVO with 8.8 touchscreen. Not really interested in 3rd party screens as I suspect they are lower quality and I also think they do not pass touches to the original UI.

yes.. i identified some pins where i have 5v but i’m unsure about the data lines.

the forced update is what i’m trying to accomplish
