I have a catless DP with a JB4 on my 435 but I am not passing inspection because my 02 sensors and emissions are coming up as "Not Ready". I was told I need to change the aftermarket DP back to stock in order to get inspection. Does anyone know another way to get an inspection without going through this entire ordeal?? Otherwise I'll be spending 300 a year for inspection stickers.... -___-

Supposedly there is a DP fix available for F30. Haven't heard reports about whether it works or not. Contact Mike@XPH for more info.

Note, with the downpipe fix on the car I would advise that you turn the jb4 to map0 and drive it for a while to make sure the sensors are back in the "ready" state and then go get the inspection done. Just to make sure the jb4 does not interfere with the inspection computers and all. Also make sure the JB4 CEL clearing setting. Is not activated.

Well FOR OFF ROAD USE / TRACK USE ONLY, if the check engine light bothers you when you are OFF ROAD / TRACK USE ONLY, than go on ebay or your preferred source for cheap chinese goodss and purchase a 90 degree elbow fitting that goes between the post cat o2 sensor and the downpipe that way you will trick your car into thinking that your cats are clean because it will be out of the exhaust stream and the voltage will read errr either lower or higher, i forget the way it works but thats what i did in my old E46 with ebay race headers when i went "OFF ROAD/RACING COURSE TRACK"

I'm not trying to illegally pass emission thats the reason i made this thread hoping someone has been through this issue and has some advice or a different alternative instead of switching from aftermarket/stock back to aftermarket DP.

Not against forum rules but as vendor i need to make it clear that these downpipes are sold for competition racing use only and are illegal for street use.

No hiding the code and illegally passing emission are 2 completely different things

DP fix is used to hide the code (on racing competition vehicles) that do not have to pass emission tests

So if I bought that downpipe I would be able to get a New York inspection?

Had anyone has issues with sport cat/hiflo downpipes and passing emissions or having the car be in ready mode?

Curious cuz I'll be switching back to a catted dp! I can't stand the damn awful smell anymore!

So far Fabspeed is the only company that assures the customer no CEL.
