I received a PM, from BN244, regarding my post searching for a MPE for my 335i.

The PM read:

" Hi, i have the 335i F30 MPE Exhaust in great condition, you can email me if you are interested...

I then emailed him with questions and here was the email I received in response, including attached photos:


" Here is my 335i MPE in good condition ..**

Not too sure about the miles on them but it was taken off my*wife's 2014 f30 as its been sold .

This exhaust**Still works greatly ...*



Asking $500 shipped. "

Obviously his grammer caused suspicion. I remembered seeing these exact photos on an eBay post - visited said post and confirmed my suspicion. The photos BN244 provided and stated were of his exhaust - were actually pulled from said eBay post (item# 282243344552)

That being said, people, please never pay through Western Union, MoneyGram, or anything like that. You have almost no recourse for being scammed when you pay with those methods...always use PayPal Goods & Services so that you have a leg to stand on if a dispute arises.

Hey brother. This guy scammed me for $400 with a phony b58 jb4 offer. I sent the money via PayPal family and friends and he never responded or sent me anything. PayPal won’t cover it since I didn’t use goods or services. Lesson learned but thank you for taking the initiative to bring this issue up to fellow forum members. Sad that people like this exist

Did you at least use your credit card? Might be able to report it as fraud that way, I've had to do fraud reports for work depending on your local laws

I used PayPal credit. They were very rude over the phone and said they can’t help me at all since it wasn’t a goods and services transaction. Been a user of PayPal for 10+ years and even have a company account with them as well. Lesson learned for sure though.

Use iTrader forum feedback with multiple sales!

Ask person for eBay name and check their feedback. Even send them an eBay message to confirm it’s them.

Even that isn’t a guarantee. Nurse in Dr Office ripped off my Credit Card Number to Order her kid Jordan Nike’s. She had 38 positive feedback....and 6 felony convictions.

Always use PayPal and Purchase - not Gift.

Skype or FaceTime to see actual part. Not some pic from the web.

Unfortunately it’s usually newer members or those with few posts that usually get taken.

BTW, it is Wire Fraud and you should file Police Reports.

Yeah I should have looked more into it but I thought I was getting a good deal. Been on the Lexus forums as well since ‘09 and had no issues there with over 12 itrader ratings. Hopefully this guy will get banned

He responded to my WTB ad for some tires. Too fishy with the Walmart to Walmart transfer. Moderators need to ban this guy. Looks to be scanning classified ads across the forums and trying to scam people. Here's his PM and email response to my WTB ad:

That's his m.o.- he scans the classifieds for WTB ads and replies to them with a contact email to avoid the PM system which can be monitor. During email conversations he will ask for payment thru Walmart to Walmart which is like Western Union. Avoid avoid like the plague.
