Just a rumor I heard brother, not entirely sure about it either

When I get my 320i coded, I'll definitely code SAT, Sport+, and LC just to have the full package. I usually drive like a grandma in comfort mode lol, but it'll be nice to have it all just in case I feel like driving for fun

my car is base af, so I don't have a built in launch control function. my launch process went as follows:

1. DSC held down until DSC enters "sport driving characteristics mode". this is what happens when you hold down the traction control button above the drive select switch for about 10 seconds. you know it's in this mode as a notice appears on the screen and steering gets noticeably heavier.

2. Shifter slapped over to the left, putting it in Sport mode. I did not shift on my own, I just put it in sport mode and left it.

3. after doing the above: left foot hard on the brake and get rpms up to about 2800. (this will require you to put the pedal down about 75% as the engine fights the brakes and tries to push the car forward, so you have to put your left foot hard on the brake.) again, I don't have a built in launch control.

4. dump the brake, mash the gas to the floor, point the wheel straight and cross the line.

after following the above steps, your only responsibility is to keep the gas on the floor and the car pointed straight.
Hmm interesting I was running on a shitty track, it was literally a parking lot lol a real drag strip with all my mods and everything I should see 8.3-8.4 hopefully on a well maintained track

I used to drive comfort and then sport when I wanted to... Then I got SAT/Sport+ and modded the car... Never drive in anything else lol

I've been dying to get SAT and Sport+ coding, but I'm kind of scared I might mess something up and I've been trying to find someone to remote code it for me

I feel like if I did get it coded, I would never drive in comfort again lol

It's honestly very easy. Setup is about 20 short steps and once you do that, you're golden. You create a backup in case something goes wrong.

I could see that 8.3/4 being possible for you. what size and type of tires are you running out of curiosity? I didn't think it would make much of a difference on a relatively low hp, awd car like mine (ours), but I think my tire setup may have helped me out a bit at the strip (running 245 wide Michelin PSS all around), as I can't see my times being possible on the damn runflats that the car came with (not that my times were groundbreaking, but they were quicker than I expected). do you guys think tires make much of a difference on an xdrive car? it's not like I was spinning the runflats when I had them on anyway

I've heard it makes a hell of a difference, especially when doubled with Sport+, and yeah LC I've heard a rumor that it isn't safe to use if your car didn't originally come optioned with it bc they're supposed to come with some kind of transmission cooler, but I guess it all depends on how often or how aggressively you use LC

obviously if you always drive aggressively its gonna cause some strain to the tranny
My car did not come with 2AT (no sport+) but does have a tranny cooler.

Yeah, I think it's the "Hot Climate Package".

Just had another to add to the list. Pulled up beside a 2013 or so Charger RT. Jumped out on him and pulled away pretty easily. I honestly thought that maybe he wasn't racing.

We ended up at the same store. The guy parked next to me (even though I park near the back of the lot to avoid anyone parking near me). Anyway, the guy says "you put a turbo on that thing didn't ya". I told him he would was a turbo 4 from the factory he shot me a look like I was joking with him and said "sure it is buddy".

Sorry for the long "cool starry bra" post but I thought it was funny the guy didn't believe me.

You're right. The 2TB code was an amazing change for the car. I was scared to do it too, but there is so much good support on the forums. It's honestly very easy, but you have to take it step by step.

Check with shawnsheridan or almaretto here on the forums. They are the guys who helped me.

I am an American muscle guy. This is my first European car and I love it. I do regret not springing for the 335 though

The way I drive, I'm getting 19 mpg. However, that is because I just got a new intake. I'm punching it all the time to hear the swoosh.

I definitely wish I had a 335i, but I also kinda of like the fun of people expecting my car to be a slug because its only a turbo 4, and then having them be surprised that these cars are actually quick. it's also fun (if not worrisome) to wring out performance from the turbo four rather than just have it already from the 35. still rather have a 335i though :/

I'm a little proud of what this little thing can do and it's weird to say, but I'm glad I didn't get a 335i. I kicked myself in the ass for a bit for not getting one, but now it's a good reason to upgrade to a 911 or M3/4.

I knew going into it, there was absolutely no way to make this car fast. You’d be stuck even if you got a 335. I have friends with big singles in their 335s and they’re still left wanting. Apparently, things get really difficult after 600whp. However, at 275whp for me anyways, this car will be very fun and that’s all I want. My corvette is making 800whp and it’s really not that fun on the street unless I have drag radials on the car because all it does is blow the tires off to 100mph. Even then, I’m going for more power and shooing for 4 digits with a built motor. It can never end. My drag radials last about 3k miles of driving and if it rains, I’m screwed. I can’t go more than 10mph in the rain. . That’s why I got this car because it’s comfortable nimble and fun and I don’t have to worry about anything really.

Even if my corvette is making 1000whp, I’m still slow compared to most people in the modding game.

I'm sitting at 300whp right now and it's a blast. I would love to take it to autcross after I install the new tires tomorrow. I'll also be taking it to the 1/8 we have over here this Friday and see if I can keep it under 9s. Lol.

That seems to be the sweet spot from what I’ve read. Once you start tearing into the motor or head, things start breaking really quick. I’m not going to make that mistake on this car.
