Wondering if anyone took into account weight differences of the wheels they changed to. Putting a heavier wheel on than stock is going to give worse performance and driving dynamics. So if anyone would mind sharing how the wheel they chose affected their car.

Unsprung weight matters!

100%, yes! I was really interested in the OEM BMW 351M wheels until I realized they weigh 32#! I just couldn't do it...those wheels are like anchors at each corner!

I went with 19" Flow-Formed (aka: "rotary forged") STANCE wheels. They weigh just 23#/front and 24.5#/rear. I lost 4# from each FRONT corner and 6.5 from each REAR (wheel & tire together compared to OEM). You WILL feel the difference with a lighter wheel / tire set up. Reducing unsprung weight matters more than you realize.

The OEM Conti SCS SSR Run Flats (junk - terrible tires... removed these at just 22,000 miles) rear tires are 4 pounds heavier than the Michelins! 30# Conti vs. 26# Michelin... fronts are just 1# different.

Wheel / tire set-up:
FRONT: 19 X 8.5 +35 with Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 225/40
REAR: 19 X 9.5 + 40 with Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 255/35

Hey, do you have more shots? From side in particular on front fenders where I reckon you will see too much poke?

What tyre sizes you are running btw, front and rear? These 613m are square setups 18x8, so I assume you have 225-45 R18 tyres all around also?

Ive sold off the 19s 351Ms (8.5x19) as the tyres I had were too stretched (i bought wrong tyres - 225-40 on 8.5 rim looks silly) and 245s from F11 felt too bulky and rubbed in the end (few people who said it would be fine are probably not driving their cars hard enough to experience them not being fine, but guarantee they are boat anchors and they do rub). I could have probably bought the 235s but that would put me on higher diameter and again, dont wanna chance it.

Mind, I had Michelin PS4S, a very good light tyre, and the car still felt heavy footed even with them due to massive bulk of 351M. Which makes sense - think about it. The 351M is made for a heavier car (mine actually came from my old F11) and not only that, they are also (as all OEM wheels) are made for the rather heavy runflat tyres. So they are always by default heavy - versus, say, chinese replicas (ok ok, Italian ones). A fact, that many companies use to sell their replicas as "lighteweight" compared to BMW because they are not made for Runflats. So my advice is to just keep in mind that F10 rims really do fit, if you are ok with either stretched tyre, or a bit bulky tyre that might rub. None of that is good for driving dynamics. Im considering 18in only now for my F30.

re 613M

Poke? Very little.
I judge based on a sightline from the top of the wheel opening since the body narrows lower on the car.
The 613s are square and I run stock-size 225-45/18s. No problems or concerns at all ... even when pushed hard.

Thanks. So, to sum up - to you this look is BETTER than 18s from F30?

There's more to it than the look.
Replacing the ugly/heavy 416s made a change necessary. From there it was budget, quality, and availability. And yes, the look ... despite your opinion.

I thought I posted here, but apparently not. 351 wheels from the F10 5-series powder coated in a dark metallic grey color that's almost the same as the car. This is my winter setup.

I was complimentary, I think it looks good also. Just wondered if you had F30 rims in 18 would you prefer the F10 due to offset or not, seems yes.

OK, thanks.
Compared to the spacers many use, the difference in offset between these and stock is minimal.
There are other F30 18” wheels that I like but I got these at a good price ... and wound up with a look that I like and is unique.

Looks dope man. Running the same set for winter, was thinking of powder coating them black too. Wasn't sure how they were going to look but now I know!

dieselsport initially had 245/45/18(26.7") ET31 up front(and rear) and rubbed the fenderwell tab/liner while turning at full lock. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...+245%2F45%2F18

since your 613M wheel offset ET30, is 1mm more aggressive, it is likely to rub while turning full lock, also.

i recommend 235/45/18 for the 18x8 ET30 613M wheels.

Correction: I’m running stock size tires 225/45-18. NO rubbing. Sorry for the confusion.
