The guys at Auto Tuning House are the best of the best when it comes to anything with our cars. They installed my snow meth kit and dinan turbo and their work is top notch!

I appreciate the drive to do such work, but I don't see the point for all the work, time, and money involved. A used DCT M2/3/4 would have likely been a cheaper option in the end plus the S55 is a better engine once you lock the crank hub.

A DCT will not be much stronger and I'd argue with that level of torque, those DCT clutches or input shaft will soon be gone. If the owner wanted the most reliable way to holding that power, they should have gone with a 6MT. That's how you run huge power reliably through the transmission on these cars, assuming of course you're not slamming the 1-2 or 2-3 shifts and munching the syncros.

The DCT (and the CVT) will be dead amongst all makes over the next 10 or so years as the future is planetary automatics. They're more reliable, less complex, smoother, more fuel efficient, easier on the drivetrain, and easier to beef up for power. Most performance-based planetary autos like the ZF 8AT lock the torque converter in most situations thus they shift and feel very much like a DCT. It will only get better as automakers go toward multi-wet clutch torque converters vs the fluid filled vane/stator design that's been around forever. The Mercedes "Speedshift" transmission is currently employing this technology.

Nicely done!

Paid solution for the win!

Now I have something to do with my e9x DCT conversion parts I've leftover since upgrading to F-Chassis.

Looking forward to hearing more from this, sub'd!

what's the cost though bro?

my guess on parts are
-dct - $1-2000
-driveshaft -$500
-shift knob - $1-200
-cluster - $1-200
-rear diff - $400-$1000

Missing anything?

I paid 4500 for a built zf8, and a built torque converter. It bolts right in. No coding, no wiring fuckery. EZ PZ.
