Bulbs

I need to replace the xenon bulbs in my 3 series (F30).

Current ones are over 6 years old and light output isn't as good as it was. Now I'm not sure whether to fit the below. Any experience of any below would be ideal.

Osram Xenarc Nightbreaker Laser

Osram Xenarc Cool Blue Intense

Philips Xenon X-treme Vision Gen2

Philips Xenon White Vision Gen2

Bulbs

My general experience on both brands is that Osram will perform better but not have as good of a life span as Philips.

Used Philips White vision and they would be my choice - very crisp and clear light.

I just put some night breaker lasers in mine they were noticeably brighter straight away and have gotten even better with time. They are a bit pricey but it makes sense when it comes to helping at night at this time of year

I have tried both Night breaker and Xtreme Gen 2, and I think the osram is brighter.

Another vote here for the Osram Nightbreakers. Fantastic light output & tone.

On my previous car I used Nightbreakers - the predecessor to the laser version and they were great, far better than the OEM Phillips ones from the factory. I'd avoid going too high in colour temperature as the light output usually goes down, but also the light quality for night driving is poorer as well.

Garage List
Where do people normally buy their Osrams from?
Thinking of replacing my original xenons as the car is 6 years old in January so I think they're past their best.

I'm guessing replacing like for like would be an improvement, so replacing with the Nightbreaker Lasers should be noticeably better right?

Tough one. The price of the white vision is very good to be fair, but the xtreme vision will achieve the most light output, so would probably sway to them.

Probably similar in comparison to the white vision these look like a great buy considering the price.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/XENARC-INTE.../dp/B01N673D1X

Ultimately with most mods it comes down to budget v end result.

From watching videos online. Philips X-TREME Vision seems to come out on top for output, lux and distance. Waiting on a couple of messages to see how the White Vision compare

just ordered! philips xtreme vision at £108 for my 2014 F31.
I had a loan 5 series for 5 months which had much better lights than mine, hopefully I'll see an improvement.

Was the 5 series a newer model with adaptive LED as compared to the stock xenons on your F31? I have had the Xtreme vision for 3 years and they are good, but not outstanding on the F30.

yes the 5 series was a 2019, mine has adaptive I don't expect much improvement but at over 6 years old a stock bulb could fail. I'm planning to keep the car for another 4 years and may as well change both bulbs now
