F30 340i Manual -- Purchase Price? -- UPDATE: CAR PURCHASED! Pic added

So I am in the market for a 340i. The only requirements I really have are MT, leather seats, M sport package, and under like 60k miles. I guess that's pretty specific...I am finding this car very difficult to find with these options, and when I do, they want like $45k+. Any suggestions? Is this a fair price to be paying? Seems rather steep for a 4 to 6 year-old 3-series, but it could just be the market currently with the inventory shortages going on. Any advice is sincerely appreciated, thanks!

Also, I am new to this forum, so if I am posting this in the wrong place, please let me know and I will move it. Thank you!

Yeah those will fetch a premium, there are so few on the market. That being said, I have one. 2016, m-sport, alpine white, 38k, rwd, dakota leather, adaptive susp, adaptive LEDs, 7 cameras and of course 6mt. In storage right now, but let's talk. I think I'm ready for an M3😁

I purchased a 2017 340i a year ago with low miles (25K), RWD, 6MT, Track Package, etc. i paid $35K at the time and thought I was paying a premium, but I didn't care because it was exactly what I wanted. Today I'm sure that same car would fetch at least $45K. I added MPPSK and LSD to mine and feel better about those added expenditures all the time. I love the car and have zero regrets.

It's a crazy market out there and I don't think it's going to correct for a while yet. Good luck.

Thanks man. Yeah the market is crazy right now, but I can't just wait forever for it to correct itself, I think I just have to take the L and buy it at the current market rate.

damn 45k? i got lucky i got my 6MT 340i xdrive, with all options, right before the insane covid price spike. got my 2017 CPO from a bmw dealer for 37.5k. this was last february.

one of the main reasons i wanted this car was because the 6MT hold its value as we are seeing less and less manual luxury awd cars going forward.

yeah that's true, provided you can keep the miles off of it, but once it gets to six figures I feel like the value tanks.

...and yet they are just getting broken in! 100k miles is not even 1/2 way there if they are maintained properly and not driven like a race car all the time.

45? I'll sell you mine for less. I picked up my 2016 340i m sport manual with everything from m adaptive suspension and lsd to track handling, enhanced led, cold weather pack with 36k on the clock for around 29k
-edited- in jest, my car is not for sale gents.

Just for an added data point, I just paid 45k for 2018 340i xDrive w/ M-Sport + Premium + Track Handling Packages. CPO w/ 6k miles on it. It's automatic, though, but came with an Individual Color.

I would imagine some diehards would say that is overpriced and maybe so, but I also traded in a '21 VW GTI Autobahn with 9k miles (6MT) and they gave me $5k more than I paid for it brand new, so it's all relative.

At least. I'm seeing some newer low mileage used F3x go for pretty close to retail which is insane. 55k is crazy.

I bought my 330i in May of 2021 for $30.6k, it's pretty loaded and had 14k miles. I'm unable to process how a similar 340i (w/manual) is $15k more.

Honestly, I wouldn't touch a 340i right now with the prices. They are about 10k more than an equal 330i.

You would be better off taking that 45k from an F30 340i and buying a nicely trimmed F31 wagon from Bring a Trailer. Or any wagon. Better in the long term.

Price is more due to the B58 engine and the availability of a manual transmission. 330i's are much much more common than a 340i with a manual

I bought my 340i 8AT in January of 2020.

An equivalent manual with fewer options was typically 4-6k more.

Market won’t correct itself if people continue to keep saying to themselves ‘I don’t care I’m willing to pay 10k more right now than I would of 3 years ago.’ Don’t give into it man...imagine you pay 10k over and car has unforeseen issues! You’ll wish you never did.

Keep checking here on classifieds as there are some forum members here that just want a quick sale and don’t care about trying compete with sleazy used car dealerships. I mean if you’re willing to spend 45 for a high mileage manual 340i just buck up 3-5k more and go get yourself a manual m2, m3 or m4....the manuals on those cars are more available and for some strange reason I’ve seen some great examples of these cars out there ( 15’ and 16’ models ) for pretty good prices.

I paid 35k for my 2018 430i with less than 4k miles and fully loaded in 6/2020 before prices got crazy. Was a good deal in my opinion but wish I held out for a 440i. I love it but doesn't have any soul (too quiet) and not very quick.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thank you for all the help. I ended up getting one with 33k miles, certified, for 37k. I feel like that's a good price in today's market? But honestly I am not even sure. Thanks again!
