Bad ABS??

So quick backstory of the car. 2014 335i w/ M-sport brakes, no Warranty

So my rear brakes were starting to stick/drag. It becomes more prominent if use a good amount of brake force but then if I mash my brakes it loosens up, yes i know its bad to do that but did it to test out if it loosens.

Took it to a small bmw shop near my job to check it out and he ended up checking around and believes its the ABS system being faulty because as soon as he unplugged the ABS unit the brakes did not stick what so ever like putting the prominent brake pressure and then get the sticky or dragging brake feel, its all gone. He told me that i may need to change out the ABS system and its not cheap.

Any alternatives or fixes i can do myself? tried searching but maybe im searching wrong because im not able to find much :/

Possibility of it doing that due to a faulty wheel speed sensor?

Did he scan the codes?

A better question is if the OP scanned for codes. You really can't work on these cars without a good OBD diagnostic tool, one capable of not only scanning for fault codes but also clearing them.
It could be the ABS system, but I suspect the pad interfaces need to be lubed. A bad sensor probably won't cause brake drag, but it will cause a half dozen other codes to be thrown, and you can't clear them without a good OBD tool. http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...2#post23288222
