Eibach E10-20-031-05-22 vs E10-20-031-06-22 vs E10-20-031-02-22??

Usually I see everyone debating the 05-22 and 06-22 kits. When I look up my car on Eibachs website it's showing a different kit, E10-20-031-02-22.

Has anyone used this 02-22 kit? how does it compare to the other two kits? How much does it lower in comparison?

Eibachs website is stating 1" up front and .6" in the rear

I have the 02-22 kit on my car. I had the same questions when I was looking last year. Lowering is more or less as advertised 1"F 0.6"R. Its definitely noticeable but not slammed by any means. I paired my springs with F80 bump stops and Koni Yellow shocks.
My understanding is that the 05-22 and 06-22 kits are for xdrive cars.

Appreciate the response.

This is the exact setup I'm contemplating right now.
How do you like it? Would you do it again? Do you have any pics?

I love it so far. Its a tad firmer than stock but something I got used to quickly. I would definitely do it again.

Here are some pics with the stock 19" wheels.
I recently upgraded to 18" APEX wheels. You can find some pics of those in the APEX wheel thread. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=386

Awesome, appreciate it. Exactly the info I was looking for!

I'm on 18" EC-7s with 245s up front and 275s on the rear. Your stance is perfect. I'm going to pull the trigger with this 20% off Koni sale

Eibachs website is stating 1" up front and .6" in the rear

2017 340i RWD
Eibach springs are excellent. Eibach takes great care to try to recommend kits designed for the front and rear axle loads. Axle loads vary by whether a car has a 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engine, whether it is XDrive or RWD and other factors like optional equipment.

Eibach's estimated spring drops are pretty accurate, but only for the model of car specified during the lookup.

Eibach's European online catalog breaks out the part numbers of the front springs and rear springs in the kits.

For example, in comparing the two kits:
E10-20-031-06-22
E10-20-031-05-22

Note: The -06 kit is typically recommended in the Eibach US catalog for F3x 6-cylinder XDrive cars like the 335ix and the 340ix. The have heavy engines and additional weight of XDrive parts in the front so heavier springs are used for relatively heavy axle loads.

Note: The European Eibach catalog lists both the -06 and -05 kits as options for the same 335ix and 340ix cars. I don't know why.

Their front springs have identical spring rates of 194 lbs/in so they will ride the same, but the spring length of the front springs in the -05 kit is less. So installed on the same car, the -05 kit will be lower in the front by roughly 15mm/0.6"

The rear springs in the -06 and -05 Eibach kits are identical. Spring rate is 542 lbs/in.

The E10-20-031-02-22 kit is listed for the lighter 335i/340i RWD cars. It uses completely different front and rear springs than the -06 and -05 kits. The -02 kit springs are softer because the are made from slightly smaller diameter wire and they have different spring rates.

Putting an -02 kit on a 335i/340I XDrive would probably drop it under the XDrive geometry and potentially break drive shafts. It would also drive differently, probably with less control.

Conversely, putting an -06 or -05 spring kit on a 335i/340i rear wheel drive car would probably raise the chassis height and cause it to ride differently in an unintended way.

Models like the 435i and 440i have their own sets of Eibach springs with different specs and expected drops.

So the Eibach European catalog has additional specifications on the front and rear springs used in various kits. Eibach tech support is also an excellent resource. I would suggest really doing your homework in the US and European Eibach catalogs first and later call Eibach if you have some well formulated questions. Otherwise you will just be told to choose the kit listed for your car.

Hope this helps!

This looks awesome! I am seeking that exact stance for my 420i xDrive. How was the stance without the F80 bump stops and the Koni shocks? Have you got any pictures? I want to pull the trigger on the 02-22 springs but I don't know what to say about shocks/bumpstops....yet

Thanks!

I installed everything at the same time so no pics of just the springs without the bump stops and shocks. Sorry.

I just wanna confirm- you were starting off with STOCK Suspension or SPORT suspension?

Eibach website says 20-25 mm for E10-20-031-02-22, but other reseller websites state as much as 1.6" (!).

I am RWD as well and do not want to drop more than an inch.

I started off with the RWD SPORT suspension. I think the 1.6" number they quote is if you start from the standard/Xdrive height.
