wow. Hope the 3rd one works out!
I wonder If the same customer service would have happened if you were buying a "normal" 3er though.

Jeezus Rukka,

What a nightmare, glad to see they are tying to put it right for you, going for a hat trick and getting a 68 plate?

Fingers crossed there are no issues on the replacement for the replacement

Wow, sounds like fun and games...

Despite the issues how has it been over the last few months since ditching the 440i? I only ask as I'm thinking about changing my 340i

Like your attitude.

Sometimes things go wrong (although you'd think especially the second would have been double and triple checked before they handed it over to you) and it's how the company recovers the situation which shows a lot.

People have thrown their toys out the pram on here over far less.

And I thought you'd just buggered off to mcutters or whatever!

Sorry to hear of all the woes, proper bad luck. On the other hand, putting a few miles on cars that you can hand back

Yas is a gorgeous colour, reckon that's a win at least good luck with the third M...

Wow admire your persistence with the M4, don't think I would of gone for round 3. Really hope you have better luck with this one.

Despite the issues, it's (they) are great cars to drive. I wouldn't have put up with all this shit if they weren't! Tyre noise is up a notch but you expect that on 20' wheels. What was surprising was the ride is actually better than the 440i I had on 19' wheels and runflats (and adaptive suspension)

Very different drive to the x40i though - much more urgency about them. It was funny when they loaned me a 335d while they looked at the gearbox issue. By comparison, it felt really sluggish.

All I would say is go and drive one if you haven't already. In default comfort mode its pretty sedate, but press the M1 button and see what happens

Cheers Jay - I really hope it doesn't get strung out to a 68 though I just want a good 'un.

Fingers crossed for the YMB one. I like blue anyway, my first car was blue, blue is my lucky colour....

Orange is soooo last year

Shocking build quality.
Appreciate us forum members are very particular about standards and quite rightly so.
Makes you wonder what the average buyer who's not so switched on or particular gets sold.
Then again I think we all know the answer to that one and if the orange peel effect on the brand new i8 I saw in the show room last week is anything to go buy, the build/paint quality issues extend all the way to the top.

Let's hope 3rd time lucky will be much better. I also agree about wondering if the CS would of been so good if it was a 318i or 320d fleet car.

That's interesting that the ride quality is better than a 3/4 series, mine certainly wasn't! Mine was an early CP, 2016, maybe they've improved them.

I wouldn't say it was really bad, but it got a little tedious day to day on anything other than smooth roads. Every pothole could be felt.

Sorry to hear your tales of woe Rukka, hope it all gets resolved with the next one!

Can't say I'm entirely surprised about the paint problems though. My cousin took delivery of his Tanzanite Blue M4 CP at the start of March and it went straight to the detailers for the G-Techniq treatment. Chap there said it was one of the worst new car paint jobs he'd ever seen and could scarcely believe the car had only been driven direct from the dealer. A partner in the business was on holiday the day my cousin dropped it off but saw it the day after by which time the number plates had been removed in preparation for the detailing work to commence - looking at the paintwork he thought it was at least a 2 year old car!

Upshot was my cousin ended-up with two invoices, one for the work as agreed and the other for the additional work the detailers hadn't expected to do on the basis they were treating a new car. After a few short, sharp, words, the dealer did at least pay the second invoice but very poor such an expensive car can be delivered to a new owner in that state....
