Given the high number of models listed, I am surprised there aren't more cars affected. There must be other factors

BMW recalls xDrive vehicles. That’s a bad title for the article. It sounds like more than just xDrive is affected.

I'd guess it's one batch of the sensors, and they've identified the specific cars that got sensors from that batch.
