Yes ... feedback, and if it's from someone who also has MPPSK that would be wonderful!

I like this product but I would hold on for a warrantied version of it to come out. Any estimates on the cost for the elite?
Also, would it be transferable upon sale to another forum member at the end of the lease? Thanks |

Just so I understand it better, BMW will honor the factory warranty even with tuner right? Or is it Dinan that will bear the cost of any repairs should the tuner cause any problems with the vehicle.
My fear is that BMW will deny a warranty claim on something that has nothing to do with the tuner just because it is aftermarket. Also, for the current version that is out, is it traceable by BMW (my assumption is yes based upon analyzing how much power the engine put out historically). Thanks again. |

On the ELITE variant yet to be released if a warranty claim was denied by BMW NA as a result of Dinan modifications Dinan would step in and pay for the claim. No tune is 100% undetectable. Given enough digging and with the proper tools it is discoverable. Whether or not it gets to those extremes needed however is a completely separate matter altogether. |

Anytime one messes with a stock engine and it's stock tune, they run the risk of something going wrong. Still, with reputable companies the chances are excellent that their tuning or modification will not result in a failure. If a customer purchases a car with the stated expressed warranty, which includes the clause about any modifications voiding a warranty, then if that customer chooses to modify the stock/OEM engine or it's tuning then he has legally already violated the warranty. Now, whether or not a problem occurs as a result of that modification, that's a different question, one that you and most are concerned about. Again, reputable manufacturers with proven track records are the much safer bet. And always remember, nothing about auto modification or tuning is guaranteed to be 100% problem free. Now whether or not the dealer/manufacturer can prove a customer did modify the car's engine or tuning, that too is a different question. But remember, there is NO law to protect the customer/consumer if he chooses to violate the manufacturers expressed written warranty. Some like to cite the "Magnusson-Moss" warranty act as something that protects their warranty if they decide to 'MODIFY' their car. NO, it does NOT. The Magnusson-Moss warranty act protects the consumer with vehicle maintenance related items such as not using non OEM oil filters, air filters, or other "tie-in" items where the consumer is forced to buy specific brand items in order to maintain warranty. That act does not protect actual "modifications". Modifying a car's engine or tuning, when the warranty states that that is a violation of the warranty, then there is no law that is on the side of the consumer. Tuning/modifying an OEM vehicle is not for those who value the warranty over potential performance gain. From time to time manufactures offer their own extra cost additional tunes that can retain the warranty. Still, even with those one should always closely read what it states about the warranty if one installs a "factory tune". I put a JB+ on a 2yr old 2009 135i I had. Very simple install and very simple device. It gave a modest PSI boot, but the actual performance difference and feel was distinct and well worth the added cost. I suffered no problems with that simple add on. And my 135i had the N54 twin turbo with the HPFP issues. BMW replaced my HPFP, but it never failed even with the tune. |

Installed mine 5 days ago
2016 340xi M sport
- bms intake - awe full cat back exhaust with midpipe - dinantronics sport tune I was looking for a mild tune. The jb4 or autoworkee tunes didn't really sit too well with me. Dont' want to put too much stress on the engine. The Dinan tune works well. In race mode you definitely feel the added grunt. A nice surge in power in comparison to stock. Really comes into it self on the 1st to 2nd shift going up through the gears. Punching it while rolling with Selector in sport, Dynamics in sport or sport + you really feel the car accelarating quicker. Interestingly launching from the dig with every up-shift you really feel the boost kicking in a lot more so then in stock. Overall I like it. Throttle tip in is normal, no jerkiness to be found so far. Its definitely worth the 300 bucks. Plus installation was super easy. The app can use some refinement though. It force stops sometimes and doesn't connect here and there. Overall you do see the boost gauge with the app and it works in real time. Last edited by 450Horsepower; 02-08-2017 at 02:34 PM.. |

This unit is designed to ive in an engine bay, I can't imagine they would not make it waterproof or at the very least water resistant.

Its installed underneath the cover where the the main ecu is. Right where the negative terminal red flap is. Its away from the engine bay. There is a cover that you remove

The board is coated and the plugs are sealed but I wouldnt go so far as saying it is waterproof. I would say its more like water resistant as you wouldn't want to submerge the thing in water or anything. That said in testing of some of our other modules that we do for domestic cars the sensor location are essentially on the ground so the device sees its fair share of blowback and has kept on ticking just fine.

Anyone else install this? 415Horspower recommended it but would like to hear reviews from someone who has had more time on this forum (only 4 posts from this user were on this thread alone)
