If Im currently negotiating a lease on a new car thats on the lot, can I negotiate with the dealer to adding some of the M Performance parts that I would end up adding on my own after the fact, as part of the lease rather than paying after the fact? For example if i wanted to add the M performance diffuser, carbon front lip and carbon rear spoiler.

Couldn't hurt to ask. I was in similar situation and asked to add MPPSK. No on that, but got them to agree on discounted price if I added after sale. If you can get it in the lease that is best bet.

Mine was really loud the first couple of weeks and once I got more miles on it then it calmed down. I've got almost 2,000 miles on it now and it's perfect. The vibrations and buzz I used to get between 1,500-2,500 rpms under certain load is gone (partially thanks to BMW readjusting the exhaust away from the heat shield). It's a night and day difference compared to the stock exhaust though.
Agree, big difference from stock in Sport mode. When I picked up techs were like, wow, car sounds awesome! Burbles and pops are most noticeable for me paddle shifting in Sport+. If you let off quick above 5k rpm you get the crazy firecrackers sound. I drive in comfort on highway, except when first merging on. Back to Sport+ around town. For me it really changed character of car from stock.

So it looks like they're keeping the car overnight because of issues reflashing the DME. I have a loaner in the meantime so I'm cool with it also because they are doing scheduled maintenance at the same time. My car has 34k miles and apparently the maintenance includes new spark plugs, which I thought was unusual on such a low mileage car but it's all part of free maintenance so no cost to me. Also good to be getting a fresh set of plugs to go with the tune I guess which is a nice bonus and probably a good idea.

I was glad they were able to finish mine in one day because I had it done on Saturday and they're closed Sunday so I would have had to wait until today to pick it up. They asked if I wanted to wait until Monday even though it's done and I was like noooope I'm driving over right now!

That's what I do as well. Comfort on the highway and then anywhere else I'm in Sport+ and manual mode. This is the only car I've ever driven in manual mode too despite having it on my last 3 before this. I always thought it was dumb but once I got the MPPSK I decided I liked it haha

i`m quoted for $3999 that includes installation and tax by my dealer.
It`s the mppsk carbon tips and the m performance diffuser. Is it good?

Would not buy one outside of a ordered & leased car with port install. Buy a JB4 & put the remaining $2500 aside if you are worried about a non warranty repair.

That sounds a bit high to me. I just had mine done, with Carbon Tips, for 3k.

The MMPK is pretty darn cool and the engine, which pulled great, pulls even harder. Amaze-balls, I am! LOL!

I do agree with other posters on the tip stick-out: it is ~1/2" - 3/4" too much. The Carbon Tips, however, can only be pushed on so far although I haven't taken them off yet to explore the easiest path to pushing them on further. I'm not sure if the tips can be easily modified or if the exhaust pipe will need cut back a bit.

I have the stainless tips and had the same issue. They were sticking out just a bit too much and couldn't be pushed on any further.
I rented an exhaust cutting tool from Advance Auto Parts and cut the exhaust back by about 1/2". It was a pain in the ass to do though. Just not enough room to work with without scratching up the rear diffuser.

My plan, assuming the tips can't be modified, was to just drop the rear muffler/tube/pipe section by removing the vibration hangers and supporting the muffler on something. Drop it just enough to make working on it comfortable and then cut the pipe back a bit. I just looked up what an exhaust cutting tool is and so I may go that route! I was just going to make a guide from some wood and then hacksaw it as I've done it that way for cutting other tubes.

One thing I don't like about the (more expensive) carbon tips is they are only held in place by a single 3 mm pointed set (grub) screw. I think it might be a good idea to either replace it with a security type screw or use red loctite (needs heated up to 500 F to break the seal). Another idea is to put the screw in from the top thus making it difficult to get to without dropping the exhaust system. Of course, this would make it a PITA to adjust the tips but it would make them more secure.

Had the same issue on the 435 MPE. Cut the pipes back with a pneumatic hacksaw. FWIW the diffuser is a 5 minute removal. 7 screws IIRC

Hi, I just picked up a 2019 440i GC yesterday, and my car has the M Performance Exhaust built it ($1,800 option), but it does not have the full MPPSK. Does anyone know if the dealership can simply install the "Power" portion of the MPPSK in my car? Is it just software coding or is other hardware involved? How much would something like this cost? Thanks in advance for any help!

As far as I've been told, the MPPSK is both and not sold as individual parts. The tune is just software coding, but my understanding is that they won't sell it separate from the exhaust. You can ask your dealer and see what they say.

Not sure if the MPE hardware is different from the mppsk. But it is a flash tune that's sold together with the exhaust. If you already have the exhaust installed then they can do the flash tune for you.

MPE is a completely different exhaust system than MPPSK and it is not possible to add the tune portion to your MPE, it is also not possible to buy just the tune portion or just the exhaust portion of MPPSK, they are only sold together by BMW. If you want to add MPPSK you can always remove and sell your MPE and do the upgrade to MPPSK.

Thanks for the clarification, Beek. Is there any OEM tune available with the MPE? If not, do you recommend any good after market ones?

No OEM tune other than MPPSK is offered, lots of aftermarket tunes now available. Other's are more able to speak to their pro's and con's, you will find all the info you need to help you make your decision here. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=663

Good Luck!
