Until you just open your phone and it brings up a list of WiFi available that you don’t actually want because you turned off WiFi?

If I turn something off, it’s because I don’t want it on, and it should be for me to decide when it goes back on again.

I am glad my gas cooker doesn’t have the same good function on it😉

I've found iOS 11 to be OK on my iPhone 6 except...

...Some apps now randomly hang or crash, sometimes causing me to have to reboot the device. Yesterday's new one was that the device became totally unresponsive to any input from any buttons, touch ID, anything. It just sat as a blank screened brick for 10 minutes before deciding to jump into life.

Other than that it's been fine in terms of battery life and functionality. I'm not a fan that WiFi and Bluetooth can no longer be switched off in control centre but since I turn these off at work and they restart when I get home onto my home WiFi then it's really not a massive issue for me day to day.

I came back to the iPhone after having Android and then Windows Phone 10 as I really just wanted a device that just works and is well supported. If this is the state of things to come then I certainly don't see the value in paying the premium for Apple devices vs Android. Hopefully there will be an update that resolves these bugs soon as iOS 10 was fine on my device.

It?s been fine on my 6s so far. Also noticed this morning that contact photos are displayed on iDrive during a call. That only ever worked with my company android before so must be due to iOS 11

Yeah, it’s not the turning off that can’t be done, it’s that it turns itself back on if turned off from here.

I mean actually off. Not off until 5am or until you find another WiFi access point. Which seems to be a deliberate feature of the new OS

I don't have any of these phones, got an iPhone 6s that I have no plans to replace anytime soon, but it seems a pretty silly and unrealistic test. Assuming all the phones have better battery lifetime than my 6s, they all have enough for most use. Apart from a charging in the for a few short trips, my 6s hasn't been charged properly since yesterday morning and it still has 35% charge.

Presumably you?ve got ?Ask to join networks? on? But wasn?t that the same in iOS 10?

If I turn wifi off from control centre it stays turned off.

These question marks on the app on iOS 11 are getting ridiculous now aren’t they!

Control Center Bluetooth and Wi-Fi controls only disconnect current connections and prevent new ones (rather than turning off the wireless hardware)

Please let us know whether the update solves the known issues?

I imagine I might be holding off for a couple more minor updates as they don't usually sort the details out for a few weeks, and to give all of the apps I use time to update themselves.

Can't answer that as I'm holding off updating for the time being. Heard some people are having battery issues and that's the last thing I need at the moment. My iPhone 6s sometimes needs charging twice a day when I've been tethering.

This https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208086 explains it all.

Interestingly, it only turns things off until 5am - hadn't noticed that.

As per my earlier post, I'm pretty sure it will also depend on whether "Ask to join networks" is on in Settings. I always leave that switched off anyway.
