Query for those with gear paddles...

Hi guys, if any of you have the gear paddles on the steering wheel, can you tell me if the instrument cluster shows D or DS when not over the the left (in manual shift mode), or does it show S1 to S8 as I've just seem a poster claim in one of the US forums?

He provided some coding values to enable it on non-paddle cars, but it didn't work for me, so curious as to whether I need bother or not

It is S1 -S8 Simon and M1 - M8 when using the paddles manually.
