hard to find exact info on 19" for xdrive

so I am looking to purchase a set of wheels for my base line xdrive. The wheels are 19 x 8 et35 and 19 x 9.5 et40. Is this doable? I have had trouble finding this size and offset combination around the forum so I am truly unsure. As of right now I am not lowered but would look to lower moderately just to get rid of the wheel gap once I replace the old suspension. If this is doable please let me know. If there is anything I should know please also let me know. Finally if it would work then what tires would work best on this set up.

Thanks

it's doable. you can use oem sizes 225/40/19-255/35/19, or 245/35/19-255/35/19, or 235/40/19-265/35/19 mildly or un-lowered, or 235/35/19-275/30/19 moderately lowered or slammed.

I appreciate the quick response. Yes I was lonely looking for a mild drop to get rid of the wheel gun. you said this setup would be doable is doable okay or is this something that I should avoid? Also how flush will these offsets get me? Finally will those tire sizes be flush with the wheel or stretched or a little bit extra meat on them? I'm looking for a flush as possible.

please review this thread of @wdeerfield's F30 xdrive...https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1514688

you'll be able to imagine the different tire sizes, their positions and fitment.

on 8.5" wide, 225 is stretched, 235 is insignificant stretch, 245 is perfect fit, 255 is slight bulge
on 9.5" wide, 255 is slight stretch, 265 is perfect fit, 275 is slight bulge, 285 is the max(and too much bulge imo).

That does help me with the 9.5 for the rears but not the 8 in the front as he has 8.5.

Your front offset is the same. the centerline of the wheels will be the same place, thus the tires will be the same place. A given size tire will be sitting slightly different on 8" compared to 8.5". Your outside and inside lip will be 1/4"(6.35mm) further in. Untrained eyes will have difficulty detecting this.

here's an example of 225 on 8 and 8.5 at same offset. the yellow line is the 8" rim, it is 1/2" narrower than 8.5", so the yellow line is 1/4" inside the green line. tire is the same place but where the tire meets the rim is 1/4" further in on the 8" compared to 8.5"

you can mess around with different diameters, widths, offsets, tiresizes on www.willtheyfit.com

On 8", 225 is slight stretch, 235 is perfect, 245 is slight bulge.

19x8 et35 will sit exactly where the stock wheels do for the most part as stock is et34. mine only sit 5mm further out than stock. you could if you wanted to put a 5mm spacer up front but it really isnt necessary. usually people run a 5mm to clear suspension components etc.. I would go with 235/265 tire combo.
