That seems very high, do you have a baseline on that dyno?
Is it a dynojet?

Yes, well considering I have the stage 3 turbo and couple more mods it's good! DynoJet 224.

Yeah I'm reading more about that on the big boost website. How does it run with the combination of the injection and the tune? Does it feel like power is being lost and how do the AFRs look? Are you monitoring them? I've been considering getting pure turbos but maybe I should be looking in this direction.

It works much better with the tune, before tuning it sometimes you saw the DME trying to fight the extra fuel and getting the AFR back to 14s, now with the tune up to 15 psi I could run without the TBI, however past that AFR started climbing a bit, just after turning TBI on AFR would stay on target.

So for those of us that are risk averse...and want piece of mind while still under warranty...

1) Does reverting back to stock for dealer warranty work and utilizing the "flash freeze" offer a solution in regards to denied warranty claims?

2) Assume my M240i has installed v8.1 of the ECU software and has a file size of 5MB. The "stock" file hosted on MP servers is v.8.2 and 5.2BM or some sort of variance exists. If reverting back to stock has a difference in versions, wouldn't this also be detectable? How does MP ensure that there is a seamless transition to the correct version of software when going back to stock?

The M boot they offer freezes the flash counter from my understanding.

Yeah, I totally get that. I guess my question is more about when software updates are applied and how MP stores the "stock" files.

Say MP backs up your stock ECU file the day before a dealer visit (is this how its done? each car will have its on file on MP servers?), and then the dealer upgrades your software to a newer version when you get a routine oil change....How would this transition be captured? If you brought your car in for a warranty claim a week later, sure the flash counter would remain the same but the ECU software would not match the new upgraded software (checksum etc.) unless you backed it up again AFTER the dealer visit.

Had a chance to run the car this weekend. I'm still pretty happy with the way the car pulls. Drivability is worlds apart from that good old juice box.

Anyways, side note...does anyone recall what the stock AFR values are? I can't seem to find stock values. Also, can anyone share what their AFR values are on CA 91...on Alex's mFlasher? I saw ~13's, but I have nothing to compare it to. I've run 3 or so tanks of E85 blend (2 gallons), and I'm still just trying to figure out whether or not I'm okay with running it. Oddly, I saw an increase in mileage, but...probably an overall spoof. Car did run a smidget lean on the corn...but again, because I'm new to running E, I don't exactly know what's good, or what's bad? By lean = HIGH 11-12's on WOT. Overall impression? An even cleaner pull (think more effortless on partial throttle) and stronger pulls without a doubt. Thoughts? TIA!

You can see AFRs in this graph.
The stock tune runs super lean, around 15:1.

That's awesome. So good to finally see a B58 running a good AFR for both safety and best power!

I haven't kept an eye on my AFR but I feel the need to do a few runs to log some data.

This could a really long-winded answer but to keep it shorter.....air/fuel ratio is the mass of air relative to the mass of fuel being combusted. The higher the number (say, 15:1), the leaner the mixture (much more air compared to fuel). This improves fuel economy but decreases performance/power, and can be dangerous depending on a lot of circumstances/tolerances. A lower number (10:1) is a rich mixture, meaning more fuel, less fuel economy, and can also be dangerous for other reasons.

Different engines (naturally aspirated or forced induction) run better on different AFRs. But for the turbo engines like ours, AFR is vital along with boost pressure, timing, and air temperature because all of that ultimately equates to how efficient the engine is running and how much power it will be able to produce.
