Just tried this, thanks to the OP for posting.

Does anybody else get a pop up along the lines of there being a problem and to start the launcher again but then e-sys starts after clicking the pop up anyway.

Is it possible that you could use something else? I find that the basic Windows Defender is like a terrier after a rat with this program. It deletes it instantly without warning and cannot be reliably configured to treat the 'offender' as an exception. The only way I can use it consistently is to run the program from within a .ZIP file, after having (temporarily) turned off WD's real-time protection.

Nonsense. Defender flagged it the first time I ran it, and then I just restored it from within defender itself. It's worked fine ever since. You're not trying hard enough it seems

For me Defender kept on quarantining the exe even after I restored it. I had to allow it before it would allow me to keep the file and run it and after that when I tried to copy it it quarantined it again.

No great shakes, takes just a bit of effort.

That's about my experience. My suggestion of a different packing mechanism would help anybody who had problems and would be seriously deterred from using this great program.

I had the same issues with the java error, installing new java didnt help.

The solution (on win 10) was the following:
(hidden folders must be shown)
go to C:/User/user name /appdata/
there I have the folders local+locallow+Roaming
In 2 of them I found the folder sun/java/
you have to delete the java folder
After that it worked perfectly for me

Did anyone get a esys lost connection with Launcher error? And something that says Launcher needs to run in background while esys runs?

As soon as I hit Launch, Esys did start automatically, but Launcher would close then a pop up that says something like the above.

Esys continue to run, I ignore the pop up, but when I do coding, I get a soft token PIN pop up, and no matter what 4 digit I enter 1224 0000 or whatever...., can't get PIN right....

It's an issue with Windows 10 version 1809. When 1903 is released at the end of the month, the issue will be resolved. I have been trying all sorts of things on my laptop running 1809 and I can't get it to work.

If tokenmaster were smart, he would do the same thing with 2.9 or maybe even an old 3.0 version. But something tells me he won't, then we'll get a keygen for the newer versions, people will start selling keys again, he'll get mad, rinse and repeat.

It seems to be a self-inflicted injury. If only he had provided what he offered, instead of ignoring people who had tried honestly to jump though his hoops, then there would have been little or no demand for paid-for piracy. Of the two current freely-available fixes, at least one does not misuse his program. The other may do, but the provider doesn't receive any financial reward. I briefly tried TM's new version on W10 1903 but it wouldn't work. Since I can already choose from two usable solutions that are unlikely to contain time-bombs, I didn't feel inclined to pursue it.

You may not want to use the 2.8.2 that TM has just released, at least not on a computer that has access to your passwords or data. 2.8.2 installs a trusted root CA certificate that allows TM to decrypt all your network traffic and more.

I see a trend with decreasing sanity in TM's newer releases. For example, the launcher app will zip your entire directory in a password-protected archive and delete all original files if it detects certain EST tokens or if you name your token using one of the banned names.

any idea how to uninstall the root ca certificate?
