Intercooler or Air Intake?

Hello all, I'm considering starting the process of upgrading my engine parts after blowing my stock charge pipe. I run a completely stock set up on my 335i F30. I ordered the VRSF CP Upgrade and am wondering what would be smarter to upgrade next, the intercooler or the cold air intake? My engine seems to run pretty hot, and I'm looking at the Performance Intake by BMS, as well as the Intercooler Upgrade by BMS. Thoughts on these products and which would be smarter to install first? Thanks

Please spend a few hours reading through the threads in this section along with some basic google searches (for this exact same questions and other similar ones) because the answer to this question should clear and there is a wealth of information available.

I don't know what you mean by "my engine seems to run pretty hot" - oil temps? intake air temps? coolant temps? transmission temps? What are you using to collect this data?

Skip the intake unless you want noise, and an IC is a must if you plan to tune and all and frankly even if you dont, if you are going to drive the car hard... IC labor also overlaps with CP labor install.

Doing the chargepipes, intercooler, and intake at the same time would make your life easier.

5 inch stepped Intercooler , charge pipe and drop in filter. The Stock airbox works very well.

Thoughts on the drop in air filters like the previous reply mentioned?

I run AFE pro-dry S and its what i was running when i did the testing in my thread above. I don't think you gain any HP from them but they sound a little better and potentially improve throttle response.
