Massage muscle gun
Has anybody used / got any experience of these massage guns?
Old body has a few niggles since I have upped my cycling. They seem to have mixed reviews and varying cost options. Interested to hear if anyone has any comments? Thanks |

Yes. My old physio had one years ago in Asia but that literally was a black and decker jigsaw with a rubber bit on!.
I do have a proper one now and they are good. Do some research though as alot are the same just rebranded and sold as different things. My hips, back etc are always tight and it does help, especially with stretching. |

Foam roller would be a better start and a little reading up on stretching etc. Honestly will pay dividends short and long term.
I'd say go for something like this only as a last resort. I've had physio on a quite bad tennis elbow type injury and it honestly make me feel quite nauseous. If it's cycling from the new machine, defo Marge muscle groups in the legs and lower back would react well to foam rolling and stretch.

Doing lots of stretches. I actually have a roller (been bad at not using it) - will wipe the dust off it and give it a go!!! |

I bought a Theragun last year during black Friday and even without the discounted price I still think it's worth the money. It's never going to be as good as a sports/deep tissue massage. But as I only get the 1 day off a week and covid I've not been for a massage for almost a year. So having the gun at least helps me plod along without my body completely falling apart.
I've tried the cheaper gun/T shaped devices but personally didn't find them strong enough. |

Bought this in May:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WRQTLT8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_9V10Fb2D0P81Q?_encoding=UT F8&psc=1 It's bloody brilliant! Great on sore/stiff muscles, but you need to look online for guides on how best obtuse the different tips, as the pack includes sod all! Charge seems to last forever, can't recall the last time I did charge it. |
