I wouldn't miss it if it wasn't there, I always have the seats reclined as far as they'll go. If I need more cargo room I just fold the seat backs down.

While rare use, it does seem great for that one instance you'll ever use it. You can get the seatbacks to 90 deg so the hatch area to seatback is square and allows for the ultimate tetris stack for some luggage while having people in the car.

Try sitting in the back seat with the backs at 90 degrees. It's unconstitutional, being cruel and unusual punishment.
The only instance where I see it being useful is if the passengers are kids in car seats. I found the back seat so intolerable that I put in a pair of these before ever having anyone sit back there: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

Yea I'm sure its horrible, much like all these new 7 and 8 passenger suv's with the 3rd row being tourture devices. I look at this feature for what it is, a one time, needs to happen, suck it up situation. Not an everyday convienence.

It actually works great for car seats. Buckle the seat to the bottom latch bars, tighten the straps as much as possible, then use the magic button and pull the seat up to really lock down the car seat.
