Bm3 transmission flash

Flashed the new transmission flash about 2 hours ago so far feels really good, a lot smother feeling and better shifting. Only drove for a few minutes will have to give a more honest review on it tomorrow. I’m running the n26 bm3 stage 2 91 with a catless downpipe and fmic. What’s everyone else’s thoughts on this flash so far?

I like it so far. Gear change feels smoother, and third is so much better.

I'm enjoying it so far. I wouldn't say it's a game changer, or that it makes it feel like a different car, but it's certainly a noticeable improvement. The shifts are slightly quicker at all throttle inputs, and downshift rev-matches are significantly better.

My 320i always shifted terribly and my BM3 tune did improve it but it was still just alright at shifting. Now it's nearly perfect.

I've been running it for a few weeks now and it doesn't feel good. It feels like a manual car with the clutch slipping when driving around town but feel fine on the highway and in sport mode. I'm going to flash back to stock for now and maybe try it again later.

Out of curiosity...

Is this a free flash for anyone running BM3 or do you have to purchase it?

I currently only have one tune purchased... not the whole OTS Bundle.

Its a free flash included with a BM3 license. Just like the GTS DCT flash if you had a DCT car.

Take a datalog and share it with PTF. They are quick to get back and will hopefully have a recommendation that can fix that for you.

Yes free - I also did 1 map. I still say this flash was s game changer for my 320.

I really, I notice much better, but maybe we have to insist a lot on the accelerator to reduce gear, there are times where it stays around 1,200 rpms and you have to step enough for the change to act in comfort and lower a gear to recover, I'm running Stage 1 91oct on N20 428i

Anybody have the issue after flashing this where if you go into the “manual” mode and do a first gear pull it does not want to shift out of 1st? It lags for like 2 seconds and then shifts.

Yes this happened to me. I thought the trans flash just turned manual mode into a true manual mode.

You buy it from pro tuning freaks. Look up bootmod3 it’s about $600.
